I struggle to come up with any downsides to these lights. They're extremely sturdy lights that look like some actual production value was put into them with good, solid connectors that actually feel secure, with proper gauge wire at that, unlike a lot of cheap RGB strips. It comes with about every mounting option you could possibly want or need, including 3M adhesive strips, 3M wire clips, and more permanent installation options like screw-in brackets and very small wood screws. It includes a metric ton of extension cables as well, so it should accommodate most installations, unless you have an extremely huge kitchen. Setup was simple. I put the lights into sync mode by turning them on and off 3 times until they blinked, and then the Smart Life app picked them up right away. Integration with Alexa was instant from there. Every voice command you would expect any other Smart Life bulb to use worked for these, and the colors + white light options are all bright and distinct. You CAN make out individual LEDs if you look straight at the lights, but there aren't any noticeable hotspots on the reflection off the wall or appliances beneath the cabinets, which is what you're going to be seeing a majority of the time. I went the adhesive installation route, and the included adhesive strips and clips are great, and look and feel like they'll stay in place for a long time as long as they aren't yanked at or overly bumped into. If I had any complaint, it's only that the connectors between lights are fairly wide, so if you wanted to route the wires back through your cabinet to get over your microwave at the middle of the line of lights, you probably can't unless you're willing to cut out a semi-sizeable square hole. There is an extension for the slim, round part of the plug that connects the AC adapter to the receiver that WILL fit through a small, round hole though, so you can route the initial plug-in overhead behind your overhead microwave cabinet if you would like. In my case, I didn't care so much and plugged it in near the bottom of my cabinets, then used the 3M strips to run the extension line along my back wall, attached to my microwave's support bracket. This will certainly work if you're renting and go the 3M route. Very highly recommended! ... show more

Decided to use these lights for a display case. There are plenty of lights specifically for display cases available, but almost none of them are dimmable or RGB. These worked perfectly, and the cables were very easy to hide. It came with a ton of extension cables that I didn’t even need to use, but could see the benefit of having. Lights get VERY bright, like brighter than any other light in my room type of bright. Colors are nice too. Very easy to adjust via the app or smart home devices. Additional extension for power is helpful for installations that are not close to outlets. Cannot 'daisy-chain' multiple 20" lights. Low profile unobtrusive! (Easy to hide.) Light out put for colors a bit weak (to be expected). Yellow is more like a green. Scene mode is nice through the app. Would be quite expensive to cover the extent of kitchen cabinets!! Replaced florescent bulb lights with these. And easy to install comes with plenty of hardware and xtra connections extension that maybe needed. I set them up with Alexa and the work perfectly. Maybe they could be a slight bit brighter but They do the job.

Purchase these and originally rated them sometime ago. Now that I've had them for a while I feel I'm more able to render and accurate review and description of this product. Basically they're really really cool. Pretty much will reproduce any color you select on the app and there are many functions including scenes, dimming, reaction to music... I paid a little more for these in comparison to other products that were similar and I'm glad I did. Really good product ... show more

These are nice for my application - both inside cabinets with glass doors and over-counter. The problem is, when you set up a schedule in-app to turn them on and off, there is no option to set a color or a scene. It just allows you to set "on" or "off". I need them to light up white during the day and blue at night. Even tried to set the routines up in Alexa. The timer works, but the lights don't change to the color you set in Alexa. Have many other smart lights and they all work properly when I do the same thing. Tried both the Smart Things and Tuya apps. Same result. ... show more

I bought these to replace those cheesy stri LED lights and LOVE them. Easy to install, reliable, works on an app on your phone, and voice control with Alexa. Super cool. Alexa will change colors, dim, and turn them on/off. As a contractor, these will be my go to for kitchen installs.
