First use review. Used with a high quality 15A power cable. Grass taller than the mower in some places. At the end of the day it did the job well, and I have to admit I was expecting to be mildly disappointed, but I wasn't. So I hit issues I would hit with any mower when the grass is this over grown, a little booging down in spots but it never stalled. I did stop and tip it over once and clean out a bunch of stuck debris, but not because I had to just because I noticed nothing was coming out the side anymore.. it was still cutting just fine, the out thingy just got clogged but two factors I should have gone in counterclockwise direction so that the out thingy had a free path and two, my grass was still fairly damp from a rain the previous be day... This would have happened with most mower with those two factors. Over all it had plenty of power, did a good job even with alot stacked against it. I'll even go as far as to say the build quality is higher than expected as well, I guess time will tell on that front, but I'm keeping it as long as it continues to do the job for the next two or three cuts. Last thoughts, this is a heavy duty metal deck mower that is not self propelled, if your thinking it's a lite easy to push around electric, look elsewhere it's built like a tank, I like that about it, but I am still young enough to brute force a full weight mower up hill. My only complaint is that I feel like the foam on the handle is not going to wear well, would be far better if it was a rubber hand grip like the rubber on bicycle handlebars, this soft foam already has a small tear in it from 1 use.. I'll likely self replace with more durable rubber at some point. I'm also not crazy about the double on system, I'm sure it's there for safety but it's just a hair problematic and does sometimes need to be done twice to get it to latch on. Think in getting now though, well see. I will update if issues arise ... show more

    • Ready to roll and performs better over gas!
I worked in automotive for 13 years, and really didn't want to deal with a gas mower: fuel, 2-stroke/engine oil, carb, spark plug, leaks, pull-start, choke, prime, exhaust, heat, smelling up the garage, so much stuff! My reel mower can't keep up with the grass in the summer, and string trimming the entire lawn is as tedious as one can imagine. I did a lot of research before taking the gamble on this one (there were a good number of DOA or short-life reviews), and I must say I'm quite happy I decided to purchase. No-tool-light-assembly necessary (screwing on the handles) and this thing is ready to go in less than 5 minutes! I gave it a test run on my already overgrown lawn (over 12 inches) and the next thing I knew I was done with almost ALL of the it! It was that exciting and easy to use! It started to rain so I didn't get to finish, and I missed my next 2 weeks due to rain. When I finally got around to finishing, the last patch was even MORE overgrown (some sections almost waist-high)... but the mower hung in there and chopped it all down without much argument - definitely couldn't have done it with the gas mower. I've now used this mower 6 times, only in mulching mode, and I agree with most all of the other (functional) reviews. - does a GREAT job - is quieter than gas (I hear my neighbors' mowers over this one!) - starts with the push of a button - mower itself is not cumbersome - buy the appropriate/recommended cord!!! - cord takes some getting used to, but easily managed - search YouTube for "Power Cable Braid" as this takes cord management to a whole new level - research spray coating to use on the interior body to prevent trimmings from clumping, especially when mulching (I used a teflon spray, which has a number of additional effective uses around the house) The only downsides I've experienced: - the cord is cumbersome over battery or gas, especially with a heavier, thicker gauge, but it's manageable, especially coming from a corded string trimmer. - handle screws are definitely too short for the "folding" purpose: can't tighten enough to prevent folding during use (if you squeeze the handles together during assembly you can catch the next threads and get a good fasten) All-in-all, I am very pleased with my purchase, as well as the mower's performance, would definitely recommend, and would definitely buy again (given of course it lasts me a good bit more than these 6 uses). ... show more
