Like other reviewers mentioned, there a lot of warning labels on this product. Some poor translations and misspellings don't do it much credit. "Avoid forgetting to catch fire" was my personal favorite. Does it work? Yes it does. I heated 5 gallons of water on a cool fall day from 57F to 114F. It took about 35 minutes. It took almost 5 hours for the water to cool back down once I removed the unit. It works. It comes with a scouring brush, I assume to clean it. Also, a thermometer that bounces around quite a lot. I wanted it for an animal trough and might still use it, but the warning labels have me a bit uneasy. Use with caution. ... show more

    • Basic; does the job, but take care.
This is a very basic immersible heater with no special features other than a small red LED indicating power is connected. However, it is well made and works as advertised. With a 2000W heating element, it draws a hefty current and must be connected to an appropriate supply using heavy duty extension cables. The heating element his protected by a strong stainless steel perforated cover so it can be used in plastic containers - paddling pool or bucket - without risk of melting the container. The power cord is 59” long. A longer cord would have been nice, especially since there is no on/off switch so the heater has to be plugged in/unplugged to operate. I heated a 5 gallon bucket of water from 65°F to 120°F in 20 minutes. The heater comes with an even more basic temperature gauge with a digital display but also no on/off switch. This heater works fine but you have to allow for the lack of safety features. For these reasons I can only give 4 stars. ... show more

    • Heats up fast.
This is a good small heater. It heats up in a decent amount of time. Works really well when you need to up small amounts of water. Only thing is you need to keep an eye on it or it will get to hot. You need to be careful handling it or you will burn yourself. This is not one of those heaters you can leave in a pool or bath with you in it. This is used to heat water. You heat the water, then take the unit out of the water, then use the water any way you want. You do not use the water while this is in it heating. It takes about 30 mins for it to heat the water. You are using something electric around water, of course you should be careful. The warning labels are completely off, probably written by an employee who said “yeah I know English, I can write the labels”. Overall, the heater works very well.     • About 10 mins to warm a 5 gal bucket
Bought this to warm a 5 gallon bucket of water when I need to wash my dog outside. Had the lovely opportunity of using it this morning. Air felt like it was in the 40s and the water hose had some ice in it, so it was a chilly morning. Took about 10 minutes to warm the bucket up (not hot, just pleasantly warm), although I unplugged it a few times to check how it felt. Could have been a little longer as I wasn't timing it, but I was pleased with how long it took. It did exactly what I was hoping for. Temperature: the temperature for this was exactly what it said it would be around the range of. It also came with a thermometer. Performance: I was reslly.pleased at how quickly this thing worked at heating up 5 gallons of water. Ease of use: very easy to use the directions were also very well written. Warmth: this definitely warmed the water right up. Be sure to keep children away from this when using though. It would. E way too hot for them.     • Second times a charm
This is my second bucket water heater. My first had a timer and I blew it out by using it too long and too often. Now that I know what I'm doing I'll be better with this one. I got them to heat up the water in my small deck pool. My first one I used directly in the pool and it took hours to raise the temp 10-15 degrees. then I tried the bucket method. I set the timer for 90 minutes and went into a zoom meeting. When I got out the water in the 5 gallon bucket was boiling. I won't make that mistake again. This one is on the minute you plug it in; no timer. It raised the 5 gallon bucket of water from 74-104 degrees in 10 minutes. So If I do this 3-4 times the pool will be warm enough. I'm a big fan of car washing and detailing, and I recently started using this electric immersion water heater. It's been a game-changer! I used to wash my car with cold water, but I quickly realized that warm water is much better. Warm water helps soap and other chemicals dissolve, and it's also more comfortable to work with. This water heater heats 5 gallons of water in about 10 minutes, which is perfect for washing a car. I just fill a bucket with water, plug in the heater, and wait. Once the water is heated, I unplug the heater and pour some into my pressure washer foam gun. The included digital thermometer safely lets me know when the water is ready.
