    • Atomic Accuracy, quiet and large...
Received this clock and first viewing by my family was shocked about the size for home use. I told them there is a 20 inch version. They kept quiet about the size. Placed one AA battery in and the clock immediately began finding the radio signal. This happened within seconds of installation. Four minutes later the correct time was set. I have another atomic desk clock and the time matched exactly. I do live in Los Angeles, California. Well built and easy to read. I chose the black face with white numbers and hour/minutes hands to see these easier in low light levels. (No they do not glow.) The clock feels solid construction. Aluminum exterior bezel and plastic backing. Easy to follow instructions are included. No AA battery is included, so you should acquire one before hand. During the day time with traffic and people outside I do not hear any type of ticking or hand movements. At night it is also quiet. I could probably keep this in my bedroom and sleep without being disturbed. Your hearing sensitivity should be taken into consideration for bedroom use. Great clock, easy to read numbers from across one to two rooms away, quiet and accurate. I would recommend this time piece. ... show more

    • Large, quiet clock which is easy to read and keeps good time.
This is a good clock, and it would have received five stars had they packed it and shipped it better. This clock seems to ship directly from the manufacturer/importer and is mailed in the box that it's packed in at the factory, no padding or etc. is used. First clock I got had a broken glass, second one was lost, third one was fine. I'm not sure if the lost clock was due to the shoddy packaging but it probably was. The clock itself does work quite well, it keeps accurate time, and is quiet. It also has an "atomic" function which is supposed to get time from a radio signal - this hasn't worked for me yet but that's probably because of the construction of my house. I have been too lazy to leave it outside but I might once it warms up and gets drier. I do wish this worked indoors without issues but I guess that's a technical limitation/is contingent upon your house's construction. It's easy to mount on a wall, I used a single screw and it's held up without any issues. Overall, if you need a good, AA-battery powered clock, this is a good option. Just hope that they have either improved their flimsy packaging or will pack it in a bigger box with some padding. ... show more

    • Best clock on the market!
This is my 4th one of these 16 inchers in probably the last 15 years. They are all still working well. One has curling face paper but it is in the garage. This new one has places for 2 extra batteries and they say that they will last up to 5 years - so I guess we will have to wait for that review.

    • Beautiful, Atomic Stainless Steel Clock
This clock is easy to read, keeps good time, and sets itself for Daylight Savings Time. The stainless steel looks great in my kitchen with my stainless steel appliances. A nice big clock for a low price. Everyone needs at least one analog clock in their house!

    • Looks great and works perfectly
I took it out of the box, put three AA batteries in it and set the switches for DST and P for Pacific time and it started setting itself immediately with hands moving quite fast. It paused for a while when then hands showed midnight but started setting itself again but slower to the current time of 2:30 PM. It keeps perfect time with the local time on the computer (Internet), and my smartphone. ... show more

    • Clock came to me badly assembled. Hands misaligned.
La Crosse's phone support is nonexistent. You can try all day to reach a human and you'll get punted to voicemail. Here's the situation with this clock to temper some of the bad reviews I've been reading: Mine did in fact work, and it's working now. But I had to dismantle the clock (voiding the warranty) to get there. When the clock came to me, the hour hand was MISALIGNED! (meaning that when the minute hand is in the 12 position, the hour hand was not at the exact mark but somewhere in between). And when I hit the wave function, it would not zero out to 12 o clock as indicated, but some random time. Basically, it arrived to me in a defective state. I tried reaching customer support several times to figure out how to remedy this. No luck. (And they never returned my message!) I should have returned it immediately, but as I am a tinkerer, I dismantled it and correctly aligned the hands myself. I also ensured they zero'ed out correctly on the 12 mark when the reset or wave function was pressed. Once that happened, I used the set function to set the time best I could, and then let it hang on my wall. Around midnight it synchronized itself with NIST, and has been telling accurate time since then. Reading some of the other reviews here, it seems that these clocks suffer a workmanship issue. Based on my experience here, I am in 100% agreement. La Crosse seems to has a quality problem with these models. The radio controlled movement itself is just a commodity product and it performs its job capably. You can get the same movement from any hobby site, and other models use the exact same design. All that is left for La Crosse to do is correctly assemble their clock around the movement, then sell it, and support their product. They didn't correctly assemble it, and their support was nonexistent. The only reason I am keeping this clock is because I got it to work on my own. There are tons of other radio controlled wall clocks out there with this exact movement. Buy one from a vendor that cares about their workmanship and customer support. ... show more
