This 12" self-setting, radio-controlled analog clock automatically sets to the exact time and keeps it accurate to the second. It has four time zone settings, and it automatically updates for Daylight Saving Time (on/off option). Operating this wall clock is easy. Simply insert one AA alkaline battery into the clock. After the signal is received, press the Time Zone button to set your time zone. Use the manual reset button if you need to readjust the clock, if you are outside the 2,000 mile distance from the signal (located in Fort Collins, CO.) The clock has a nice sharp look on the kitchen wall. Silent movement, but still the good old fashioned clock with hands, least we forget how to read time on a clock that isn't digital. Syched right up to the atomic clock signal from Fort Collins CO. We're about 950 miles from the transmitter and typically we receive a signal every night. I have a 14 inch La Crosse atomic clock and love it, so I bought this smaller version for a smaller room. It performs as well as its big brother with one small exception. This one makes an audible click as the hour hand moves that I notice only at night. For me it's okay because it isn't in a bedroom. If it were I would probably return. In my initial encounter with this clock, I encountered a minor setback—upon inserting the batteries, I expected an immediate synchronization of time, only to find myself momentarily frustrated. Speculating that the signal reception in Massachusetts might be weak, I resorted to an app on my phone that skillfully simulated the time signal, proving to be an effective interim solution. Despite initial disappointment regarding the signal strength, the clock's remarkable precision remained a source of contentment. A few days later, the turning point arrived as daylight savings time transitioned, and to my surprise, the clock seamlessly self-adjusted to the correct time. It dawned on me that the signal reception had been functioning adequately all along—I simply needed to exercise patience!
