  • Perfect non-damaging toner for blonde hair
Color: Platinum Pearl Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I am on my third tube of platinum pearl and I can't express how much I love this stuff. When I bleach my roots I end up with level 9 yellow hair, which I then use Shades EQ to turn into more of an icy/gray blonde. But once that toner starts fading, the yellow creeps back in and that's when I start using this product. I leave it on for at least an hour under a shower cap, which DOES leave just a hint of lavender in my hair but I like that and intentionally leave it on for way longer than directed because I want that hint of color. It DOES darken up my blonde due to leaving it on for so long but that's the look I'm going for. The smell is pleasant and my hair is SOOOO soft after I rinse, despite all the abuse I put it through with bleaching and toners. Also, I scoured the reviews before purchasing and noticed almost everybody who included pictures and complained about the product "doing nothing" used the wrong color. They either started off with hair that was too dark for the product to have an effect, or used the incorrect color to neutralize. So for the first issue of using this product on dark hair - this is a color-depositing product, it does not lift at all so if your hair starts off DARKER than the color that is coming out of the tube, your results will be almost imperceptible, or you will get no results at all. If you use blush BLONDE on brown hair, guess what - it's not going to do anything, because it is impossible to see a lighter color on dark hair. The color may be there, but you won't see it. Look at the color of the model's hair on the box - if your hair is significantly darker than that, chances are you will not see significant results. I will say, some of the before/afters in the product photos are misleading in my opinion, which I'm not a fan of because it gives people unrealistic expectations. Like the plum color most certainly will not turn truly black hair a bright purple like the photos claim, especially if it's virgin hair unless maaaaybe you're in very bright direct sunlight, but that's another discussion. If you are attempting to neutralize undertones, you have to choose the correct color based on what tone you are attempting to neutralize. Look at a color wheel. Purple neutralizes yellow, blue neutralizes orange. If you have orange brassy roots and use purple, it won't work. If you have yellow brass and use blue, same deal. And you cannot fix a bad bleach job with a product like this - if you do not lift your hair enough and end up with really orange roots or streaks, you need to bleach again, a color-depositing conditioner is not going to fix a bad bleach job. Your hair must be light enough for the conditioner to be able to neutralize. I do wish the products were labeled with what color the product actually is because that might help but do some research and choose the color that is appropriate for your hair, or do another round of bleach if your hair can tolerate it. But this product is not going to magically fix hair that was not lifted properly. This product also must be applied COMPLETELY evenly, otherwise you WILL get streaks. It takes me a good 20 minutes to work this through my semi-thick boob-length hair because if you don't fully saturate every strand, guess what - those strands will not be affected and you will end up with streaky hair. I haphazardly slapped this in my hair the first time I used it and I did end up with streaks. I've since learned my lesson and I section my hair into 6 parts and apply to each section until it is fully saturated from root to tip. And if certain parts of your hair are more damaged (aka pourous) the color will stick to those parts more as well. I start with the hair growing from the nape of my neck since it's less damaged, then move up my scalp and do the hair growing from the crown of my head last, which gets more abuse from the flat iron and therefore is more porous. Ends tend to be more damaged/porous compared to roots, so if that is a concern for you, apply to hair closer to the scalp first and slowly work your way down. ... show more

  • Silver on long natural grey hair
Color: Silver White Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
First washed my hair with Paul Mitchell Shampoo 3 to clarify then got out of shower did the towel dry used 1/2 the bottle and I let it sit for the full 15 min. Application for me was a bit of a pain with having to get out of the shower, towel dry, let it sit 15, then get back in the shower and rinse but... for me it is worth it for several reasons. When applying I immediately noticed it cancelling out the dreaded yellow despite not being as fully saturated with purple pigment as say the No Yellow or other anti-yellow shampoos are. I am wondering if this product tones by leaving a "gloss" on top of the hair rather then having that purple color stain the hair strands? Unfortunately, if this is the case it would stand that the color rinses off after some time which is exactly what others say happens. I did use that clarifying shampoo immediately before application and my hair was literally squeaky clean but tangly af when I got out of the shower. It was so hard to not apply conditioner you don't even know! My hair is just a tangly type. Believe it or not, after applying the gloss throughout my hair I was able to use a wet comb and comb it through my hair with minimal issues which was incredible. No before picture. Picture attached is 2 days later after double washing my hair with with Moroccan Oil Moisture Shampoo and using Milk Shake Moisture Plus conditioner which is my holy grail of conditioners. Don't come at me but I showered at night and just left my hair wet to sleep in. I didn't use a satin bonnet which I generally use and despite that, this is my hair first thing in the morning. I didn't brush my hair or anything. I have hair I can not brush when it is dry or it expands. If you know, you know! The results are good. The pure white sections of my hair at my temples are not lavender which is great. It looks like the bottom half of my hair needs the focus so next time I plan to only use this product on the lower half of my hair and I'm going to try towel drying my hair better at the bottom as I am wondering if it was an application problem as my hair was nearly dripping wet at the ends when I applied the product even though I did towel dry. I did purchase the White/Silver too but I haven't tried it. I didn't notice any notable difference is saturation of purple color between the white and grey silver but I did notice that on the bottle of the grey silver it reads "silver anti-yellow" while the other reads "silver-white." I might update once I try the silver-white but don't hold your breath! lol ... show more

  • Nor a bad color boost
Color: Copper Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I wanted to add some life to, and revive, my colored hair. This does the job. It boosts and extends color. I matched it to my fading hair color and it revived it. It’s messy. Use gloves. But it’s easy to use. Just follow the instructions

  • Pleasantly surprised by this “Cool Blonde” gloss
Color: Cool Blonde Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I am very pleased with this gloss. I was extremely hopeful that this would save me after bleaching my hair over the last few weeks. I had virgin chemo hair and it grew out pretty dark blonde/light brown with really pretty natural blonde highlights but the dark part so short on my face was just driving me nuts. Soooo I decided to bleach my soft virgin hair and kinda mess it up. I just couldn’t shake the gold/yellow in my hair. I got it to a level 9/10, but the gold/yellow was still shining through looking very artificially blonde which I didn’t like at all. I tried to tone it darker only to turn my hair dark reddish brown so I had to bleach it again to lift that color out. Then I was back to gold/yellow hair again. I did some research and came across this gloss so I thought I’d give it a try and it really brought my blonde back to a more natural shade of light blonde. Thank goodness!!! Now I’m thinking once this washes out I might even try the Bronde shade to bring me back to more natural tones closer to my natural color. These glosses are wonderful! I’ve attached a pic of my natural virgin hair, and the awkward blonde I ended up with and then the latest with the cool blonde gloss in it. It definitely toned out most of the gold/yellow tones. I left the gloss on for 10 mins. This works sooooooo much better than any purple shampoo I’ve ever owned in the past. This will definitely help me get through growing my hair back out to my natural colors. ... show more
