great lock, had bought it to replace bottom portion of my door handle and didn't end up using the deadbolt. instructions were quite clear and easy to follow. had to drill additional hole to install. overall would buy again if needed.

Excellent choice, even though we have dark oak doors. It's somewhat modern and classic. We had to buy 2 as we have double doors on the front. Unfortunately, we needed a Dummy but they do not come in this style. SO we had to buy 2 with everything included.

My dad was a locksmith for 35+ years until he passed a few years back and always held Kwikset in the highest regard. My houses have always had them on all exterior doors. They produce decent products for a reasonable cost. I had to install a new handle set this time and my only complain about their SmartKey Security feature is you need to repeat the process a couple times. The first attempt did not pattern match my old key and it took some jiggling to get it to work. After repeating the process a second time (using the same key for old vs. new this time), it now works fine. ... show more

The install took me 15-20 minutes, really easy. Had to drill a new hole for the bottom of the door handle but luckily I have a drill set so it was a piece of cake. The template that is provided worked well. Super simple and looks beautiful.
