  • Easy to install and well made for the price
Color: Venetian Bronze Pattern Name: Lock
I purchased this product after having it recommended to me for ease of use. I compared other brands and models but ultimately went with this because of its price and reviews. The keypad lock I had before had WiFi connectivity (that I never ever utilized) and kept dying every single week. it became a hassle so I’m hoping this rarely requires battery change. The install took me less than an hour and was pretty straight forward, even for less experienced people. The Smart Key technology let me effortlessly change the lock to use my current key which was a huge benefit and something you should consider. Changing the code was also easy and I like that you can have up to 6 codes. I’d recommend this for anyone who wants a reliable, straight forward keypad lock!! ... show more

  • Easy Installation - Works Great! :: Plus a 19-month usage UPDATE!
Color: Venetian Bronze Pattern Name: Lock
After having used this deadbolt lock for about two months now (see below for 5-2021 update), I can share with you I am totally satisfied with it. After shopping dozens of different keyless deadbolts, ranging in price from just over $50 to well over $350, I settled on this one, in the bottom of the price range. Why? 1. I don't trust the security of my personal information in the cloud - there have been far too many data breaches of supposedly "Secure" companies that expose untold quantities of data to hackers. This means I really don't want a lock that interfaces with the cloud. (Internet.) 2. The more expensive locks offer thousands of different entry codes. I only need about three or four. This one offers ten. Plenty for me. 3. The more expensive locks offer the ability to interface with your phone, and lock or unlock your door remotely. I cannot think of a single instance when I would need or use this feature, and so I'm not willing to pay more to have it. 4. This lock offers one-time-use codes, as well as optional auto-lock after a period of time I can set. I don't currently need either of those, but I might, and I am not paying extra to get them. 5. This lock offers the ability to program entry codes up to 10 digits. Four digits is too insecure for me, so I'm glad I can use more. 6. There is a one-button push to lock feature. I didn't realize how much of a plus this was until last month when I went to an AirBnB that had a pushbutton lock that you had to enter the code to LOCK it as well as unlock it. That was a pain. DRAWBACKS: There are only five code buttons. This means the code for 2-4-6-8-0 uses the same buttons as 1-3-5-7-9. This reduces the security of the lock somewhat, but I knew this before I bought it, and with the very low risk where I live I deemed it NOT to be a problem. Especially if I program longer-than-4-digit codes. There IS a light that comes on, lighting the buttons from the inside, when you push the first button - very good for night time entry especially for someone who is unfamiliar with the lock. However, it's only moderate brightness and the buttons are not large, so this might not be enough for some older people or those with vision challenges. However, the buttons are arranged in a distinctive pattern, and it is easy to find your first button by feel, and actually to enter your entire code by feel. Moderately obscure programming. There is small chance I will remember the code programming how-to the next time I need to do it. But the VERY SMALL PRINT instructions are easily followed. Just don't lose your instruction micro-manual. And keep a magnifying glass handy to read it. No word on battery life yet. After two months, the initial set of batteries is still going strong. Overall, this lock rates five stars. If I ever need another one, I'll probably buy this brand again. ========= UPDATE - 19 Months Later ============== This lock still gets FIVE STARS in my book. After about 19 months of flawless operation, I finally had to replace the first set of batteries. Needless to say, I had LOST my micro-print manual, but it was easy to find the PDF version of the manual online. Because I had replaced the batteries, I had to re-program the whole thing. Since I had only changed the master code and entered 3 user codes, this was not that big a deal, but I can see if you had a dozen or more user codes, reprogramming could be a pain in the patoot. In the reprogramming, I ran into a problem - one that wasn't covered in the manual. So I called the toll-free number (in the manual), and with a minimal journey through voice menu purgatory, I actually got a LIVE PERSON who was friendly and knowledgeable, and had my problem fixed quickly. (It turns out I needed to take out the batteries, push all the buttons, re-install the batteries, and start over, then all was well.) This was OUTSTANDING customer service, and reinforces my very strong 5-star rating for this device. ... show more

  • Setting Up
Color: Venetian Bronze Pattern Name: Lock
Installing the lock was very easy, pictures were great. However setting up the lock feature was difficult. At one point in the directions it lets you to enter the code 1234 however that was incorrect the actual code is 1357. Once I figured this out is was easy, but that really needs to be changed in the instructions ... show more

  • This is the best lock you can buy
Color: Venetian Bronze Pattern Name: Lock
I've owned a lot of locks. This is my favorite one. At one point I had Kevo wi-fi locks on my house, and they were more of a hassle than a help. I have since trashed them and replaced with these. What a relief. Wifi locks drain the batteries MUCH faster. The battery on these babies last over a year. Also with the Kevos, to open the lock, you had to pull out your phone... open the kevo app... then touch the bezel of the lock... then wait about 10 seconds for it to decide that your phone was an acceptable e-key... then it opened. That is, if your connection was good -- you still had to carry your regular key, or you could get inexplicably locked out. It's such a relief that I'm back to these and I don't have to worry about that BS. I decided wifi locks are at best a hassle, and at worst, a security concern. In contrast, these simply work, each and every time. Like an appliance -- as it should be. If you absolutely MUST have the ability to change the access codes remotely from another state or something, by all means get a wifi lock... but that's the only reason I can think of. After doing a factory reset on these puppies, you definitely want to change your master code from the default 0000, or anyone will be able to use it to add their own user code and then enter your house. Delete the 1234 default user code as well. Once you take the time to figure out and memorize how the master code is used to adjust the settings, this lock becomes SUPER powerful. The auto-lock feature is simple and effective, and because you have the keypad, you aren't going to lock yourself out with it. There are no wifi interfaces to hack, no fingerprint recognizer to trick, and it never does anything "strange", like unlocking and locking in the middle of the night, like various wifi locks I've used. Wifi is fine for garage doors. But when it comes to my door locks, these are the way to go. ... show more

  • Works well
Color: Polished Brass Pattern Name: Lock
The size of the control unit on the inside of the door is the only thing I don't care for on this unit. The programing was easy enough and it was simple to re-key to my existing Kwikset key, so all my house locks take the same key. The hardware is made of sturdy materials which appear to be quite durable and secure. ... show more
