I gifted this set to my daughter as a wedding gift.     • Great Fun, But Use With Caution
I originally bought this for a Christmas party mixer. I tested it out at home first and it worked great. It comes with several metal marshmallow skewers, which were super helpful. We plugged it in and it heated up quickly and was able to brown the large S'mores marshmallows after just a few minutes. It's a bit awkward sitting there holding a marshmallow over a heating coil, but it definitely works, and you can light a marshmallow on fire with it eventually. The reason I docked it 1 star is that it gets extremely hot throughout the device, including the power button. We had it sitting on a table and it melted the tablecloth it was on and burned a bit of the table below it. We probably left it unattended too long, but again, definitely something to keep an eye on. Consider putting it on a plate or something similar. I definitely recommend keeping an eye on it and giving it time to cool down when it's not in use. ... show more

When I got this, I was a little worried with it being all electric. I love burnt marshmallows, and usually the only way to do that is with fire. If you let this heat up long enough and you put the marshmallow to the guard it will catch a flame. However if you only like a light toast you’re in luck! I didn’t expect much from this but I was very surprised how much fun our family had with roasting marshmallows. It was very easy to set it up! One complaint is that it doesn’t roast very fast but if it gets hot enough, you can touch your marshmallows to the top and it’ll catch it on fire to actually roast! ... show more

It is just okay for me. It seemed to take longer to warm up then necessary. And even when the machine heats up for a long time, it still seems to take a while before the marshmallows heat up enough to turn brown. It just wasn't that enjoyable because of the time it took to make the dessert and arms getting tired. I'm sure a family with kids would find it fun once or twice. But the person that has to clean all the mallow and other gunk from the heating element plate would get tired of that fast...lol It's a cute idea. ... show more

After reading some reviews that indicated it took a long time to toast, I was a bit leary. But when we cranked it up, everyone in our group was very pleased with how quickly the marshmallows browned up!
