Just received this on Sunday and used for the first time on Monday. I am by no means a professional baker. I am a casual amateur baker at best. I am embarrassed to say that this is replacing a very old handheld Betty Crocker handmixer. LOL. The stand mixer is of reasonable quality. The housing is all plastic. The bowl is stainless steel. As others have reported, there is an odd dimple in the bottom of the bowl. The attachments are of reasonable quality, but I would in no way compare to a Kitchenaid. The spatula is plastic, the whisk is a very light weight material, and the dough hook although metal, is definitely made of a non-dishwasher safe material. The plastic shield is thin, but fit the bowl perfectly. The machine arrived in good condition. Unpacked and washed everything immediately. I used it for the first time to make chocolate chip cookie dough. It did fine, but I did notice there was not much difference when I changed the speeds throughout what was available. This machine is fine for the occasional baker but by no means is it meant for heavy duty use. Clean up is easy, I didn’t mind hand washing the pieces by hand. I would recommend for the occasional Baker, and I definitely would buy it again as the price was very reasonable for what was provided provided. ... show more

Like many, I own one of those honking BIG stand mixers. It took up a ton of precious real estate on my kitchen counters and ultimately got packed away in a huge box and put into the garage. I missed it but it was just too big and bulky. I got THIS little baby here and I absolutely adore it! It is compact and easy to clean. The accessories allow you to complete even complicated recipes. I made a dozen big cinnamon buns right away. The dough hook does a wonderful job of kneading. It did not overheat and the power remained strong. I have also made mashed potatoes and a big loaf of rustic crusty bread. If you are new to cooking or have been cooking for years, I would recommend this mixer. I was very impressed with this stand mixer. I wasn't ready to invest a Kitchenaid mixer, but wanted to be able to make things that require a stand mixer. I used this mixer in my first attempt at making a dacquoise dessert. I was able to easily make the meringue and the buttercream. It's not a very heavy mixer, but the suction cups seem to keep it stuck to the counter well enough. I'm sure it won't last 100 years like a Kitchenaid mixer would, but I'm happy with the performance. I won't be using it more than once a week or so, so I think it should do the trick. Overall, I'm very happy with the product. ... show more

I thought the price was too good to be true. and it was. I was hoping to do all my xmas baking and bread making the whole design is off, the bowl is too deep, and does not spin, it is fixed to the base so you cannot use a spatula to move content to the center to keep mixing, there is simply no space and the center of the bowl is pushed up so you cannot use the bowl with a hand mixer because of the bulge. It is very noisy while running and your butter and sugar does not ever become light and fluffy. I had to move my ingredients to a mixing bowl and the hand mixer did a much better job. Sorry, but this is just not designed properly. My Oster kitchen center is still in storage and that is well worth the money. ... show more

This was an overall good buy. I don't like the clean up process as I used it to mix bread dough and the dough gets all the way into the top where the attachment connects and it gets into the actual grooves which makes it hard to clean up properly. It does get quite heated while mixing bread dough and almost struggles with it. I am not able to kneed the dough in this properly for a loaf of bread. It was rather a hit or miss. It feels like it doesn't have enough power to do the job right. At least for bread in my opinion. I have yet to try it for other things but I will update my review when I do. ... show more

    • Good and Bad!
I wanted to love this because the reviews were so good. I bought the turquoise and I love the color. I've never owned a stand mixer before and wanted to make the transition and this looked like it might be a good product. Having used it once, I think I'm going to keep it BUT I think anyone who purchases it needs to know the following so they can make an informed decision: 1) The head of the mixer raises but not as far as I'd hoped, making it difficult to have room to put ingredients into the bowl when you're in the process of mixing, 2) the bowl of the mixer was super hard to remove from the base as you have to twist it to get it off, 3) when I made a cake from a mix, after all the mixing was complete, I noticed there was dry, unmixed product still in the bottom of the mixing bowl, so I had to hand mix it, 4) It's hard to get a utensil into the edges of the bowl when you're mixing and you need to scrape down batter from the sides of the bowl; there isn't much room to do this. I finally had to actually remove the bowl, scrape it down and put it back on the holder. I don't know, maybe lots of people have these issues with any mixer. Since it's my first one, maybe I'm overthinking these things, but it does seem inconvenient. ... show more
