    • My FIRST KITCHENAID!
My husband bought this for me for Christmas this year! It is my FIRST Kitchenaid! I was leery after reading all the reviews about grease getting into the bowl from the engine compartment but have not experienced that at all! HOWEVER, as I whipped up my first batch of cookies and then proceeded to scrape the bowl with my rubber spatula, to my horror, there was a grayish color in the dough that I was scraping. I was so upset. I looked around online and found videos on grease getting into the bowl, but this didn't look like grease, not oily, no smell. So I decided to live chat with Kitchenaid. I talked to a rep there and explained the situation. She apologized and said that it was polishing residue in the bowl. That all I had to do was use some olive oil to clean it out. I asked her if this "residue" was food grade and she said yes. I had to clean this bowl out several times with oil and a paper towel until all the gray/black stuff was off but now it's gone and haven't had any other issue with it. WHY WOULDN'T THEY DISCLOSE THIS IN THE MANUAL???!!! Btw, she said the grease is brown and this was clearly not brown so I'm confident that was not the problem. So as for use, I've made several batches of cookies and frostings and am very happy with the functions. It is a heavy duty machine and I love not having to wear out my shoulder with a hand mixer. I love the lock-in bowl feature and the mixer blade. I can see I'm going to want to get the one with the spatula on the side to get those sides cleaned off so I won't have to stop the mixer, lift the arm, and then scrape the bowl. The pouring shield is helpful for liquids and most solids, but flour...make sure you have the mixer turned off or way down or flour powder will go everywhere as the shield isn't "locked" into place and not sealed so the flour powder can come out the sides! I haven't used the whisker or the bread hook yet. Overall, very happy with my purchase and I'm getting a $50 mail in rebate too which would put it at $210 before tax. A very sturdy machine that will save my body wear and tear :) ... show more

    • Amazing kitchen aid AND customer support from Amazon!!!
I purchased a kitchen aid mixer as a gift for my daughter. It was never delivered even though it appeared so when it was tracked. I called amazons customer support and they were fantastic!! I explained that it was no where to be found, not even the neighbors!! It literally disappeared!!! I did not want a refund since the price went up $80, so I would’ve had to pay more had I reordered it. Amazon’s customer service was so wonderful to me, and sent a replacement immediately and it arrived lightning fast in time for my daughter’s birthday!! I’m so happy and pleased with how I was treated, and a replacement sent promptly! Kitchen aid is a VERY good product! I’ve had mine for 15 plus years, so of course I wanted my daughter to experience the same amazing product as kitchen aid! It has so many uses and it’s become a staple in my kitchen. The attachments are really handy too if you’re interested in exploring many other uses for your kitchen aid. Your baking and cooking will be transformed overnight by having a kitchen aid in your kitchen!! I highly recommend kitchen aid mixers and also I highly recommend buying it from Amazon. If anything goes wrong, Amazon has their customers well taken care of.     • LOVE THE MIXER!!!! Worth the money.
My husband bought me this mixer for Christmas. We received the speedy shipment on Dec. 5 and there has not been a day since that I have not used my mixer! It is so simple to use and makes my everyday cooking so much easier and quicker. I have used the paddle, whip, and dough hook and find them very easy to clean. All but the whip can go right in the dishwasher. I was pleasantly surprised at just how much the bowl will hold. It is deceiving to look at. It looks small but can hold a double batch with no problem. I love the shield because I usually make a huge mess and this definitely helps me control it! I have made breads, whipped cream, cookies, pies, mashed potatoes, and other veggies, and mixed meatloaf so far with my mixer with no problem at all. I have used it back to back batches several times a day with no problem. I have not used any attachments yet because I just ordered them. I feel that the extra money spent on this mixer was definitely well worth it. The high quality of this mixer is obvious as soon as you open the box. I have previously burnt up several other big name stand mixers ($200 MIXERS) and so far so good here. If I had to pick one thing to not like about this mixer, I would say the weight. It is heavy so you don't want to put it where you are not going to be using it! I also found the Mixer Bible book to be helpful and it has loads of recipes for this mixer. All in all, I am totally in love with this product!!!!!!! I would recommend it to anyone. ... show more
