The latch doesn't always engage and then it free spins. That's fine if you are pulling out cable. Dangerous if you are trying to pull it back in with a load on it. Would not buy again.

Cant install where old one was because holes don't line up. Have to drill 1st. Probably will buy another brand instead of killing a bit or 2.

Absolutely met my expectations of being Made in China. Gear latch binds and will cause runaway winch under load. No brand name on box or small print so mfg is ashamed to put their name on it too. Do Not Buy, your asking for damage or injury. Spend an extra 30.00 and get a working product. Now I will have 90.00 in a 60.00 winch but it will work on command. ... show more

I used this winch to help me raise trash bins into a dumpster at work. I mounted it to a pole and made a device that hooks onto a big trash bin. It really made the chore of taking out the trash much easier. I can now do it by myself and my back is saved. I got a couple snatch blocks (pulleys) rigged up to use like a crane. I found a cable and pulleys at harbor freight. The winch winds up easily even with a load on it and it can be switched to reverse by pulling the winding crank slightly and moving the selector switch. I hook up a large bin and raise it high enoug to push a dumpster under it then lower the bin. I lay the bin sideways then hook up to the bottom of the bin and crank it up. The bin empties itself into the dumpster. Works perfectly. Couldn't have done it without this little crank. ... show more
