  • ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Perfect for My Part-Time Job! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I needed a reliable and affordable tape measure for my part-time job, and the Komelon 4912IM has been a great choice! It’s compact enough to fit nicely in my pocket, making it easy to carry around. The 12-foot length is perfect for most of my tasks, and the dual inch/metric scale is really convenient. The tape is durable and the lock mechanism works smoothly. It’s tough enough to handle daily use, and the ergonomic design ensures a comfortable grip. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a practical and budget-friendly tape measure! ... show more

  • Just bought my 2nd…
I’m an old dog (old carpenter / old builder) learning new tricks - doing more work in metric. I bought one of these tapes last year; it’s my primary go-to tape, and lives on my workbench, so it’s my tool of choice for everything shop. (Outdoor, when I’m framing or such, I’m still inches.) I just bought a second identical tape to live next to my machining tools. Now, I can do some planning and roughing on my bench, in metric, and directly fabricate in my machine shop. Yes, as you’d expect (but I still checked) the measurements are identical. And yes, I could just stop what I’m doing, grab the original tape from the bench, and go back to fabricating, but as a devotee of Adam Savage, that is a source of productivity friction (“first order accessibility”). So, a small luxury, but one that I find useful. They’re nice, small tapes, that are great for smaller tasks, and for helping old dogs learn metric. They are NOT what I’d use to build a house, tho. ... show more

  • good quality
I recently bought a tape measure from HF and was appalled by the poor build quality. I decided to get a new one with metric on it and this was very affordable and a good size for my needs. My first impressions are very positive. The build quality of this tape measure puts the HF one to shame and rivals the larger Stanley tapes that I have. Just received it, but so far, I like it a lot and may grab a couple more ,so that I have more tapes with metric on them. ... show more

  • Good EDC tape measure
I've had this tape for 8 months now. It is holding good, with expected wear for an EDC. It will hold for 4-6 months more probably. I live in Costa Rica, so I need a hybrid tape measure, with both imperial and metric readings. Both systems are commonly used here. This size is perfect for me as I work a lot with wood. 10 footers are a little small as many boards come in 12ft. 15 footers are too bulky for an EDC. This is a very good size, it holds good on the hand, it has a spring kicker plate to avoid damaging the clip when retracting fast, and the most important, the measurements show the full inch and cm number: i.e. it doesn't show 1, 2, 3 after every foot or every 10 cm, it show the full inch and cm number all the way to 144" and 350cm. This is a must for me as it avoid silly reading mistakes. The accuracy is about standard. It has a half millimeter error when reading from the tip. The inside and outside measurements do match, so the tip play is calibrated. The nylon coating is average. Do oil it from time to time if you use this and wet environments. Overall, a good EDC tape. My go to for now. Cheap to replace also. ... show more

  • Leave it in the box!
I bought this tape measure 5 years ago, according to Amazon. It is packaged such that for household use, you can leave it in its packaging and everything still works perfectly. Why leave it? So that I can always find it easily. It is small, and the packaging is yellow and big and makes it easy to find among my pile of junk. My 5 year old tape measure is still in its packaging, works great and I use it all the time, and I never have trouble find it until recently, when my son keeps taking it to do schoolwork and doesn't put it back, so I am buying one for him so that he can leave mine alone. It is in both ft and cm, which is handy. So remember, if you don't plan to pack it around on your belt, leave it in the packaging, and you will thank me every time you find it in a flash. Buy it for your mom for her birthday. It is perfect for old women like me. ... show more

  • Best way to learn metric length
This is a great tape measure in general, sturdy easy to read and compact. But its best feature is that it is marked in both Inches (1/16" resolution) and Metric. So I'm finding it's the best way to start becoming more conversant in metric equivalents of the more familiar inch measurements. I was trying to find a small project enclosure on Amazon and many of them give metric sizes. But I had no intuitive feel for 70 mm. Sounds huge, but I know a mm is pretty small. So actually how big is a lot of a small thing... I dunno... let me get a calculator 'cause the one thing I do know is there are 2.54 cm in an inch. Ok so punch in 70, divide by 10, divide by 2.54 and get 2.75 inches. I can calculate it but I have no feel for it, yet. But with this wonderful tape measure I just pull it out to around 70 mm and immediately see ah ok that's a bit less than 3 inches. It's a perfect representation of not only the numeric conversion but also a compelling visual that I can relate to much better. And thus will remember. I was able to use the tape measure to approximate the stuff that needed to fit into the project box and could then quickly chose the ideal size from Amazon. I love this tape measure, and will order another for my workshop. ... show more

  • Handy tool, especially for people that were not born the Imperial system.
If you were taught the Imperial system of measurements, you have a fair guess of what an inch looks like, a foot, or how much an ounce weighs. Having both measurements simplifies it to see both side by side to determine length, amount of fluids, weights, etc...The nice yellow band contrasts with almost all the colors you will measure with this tape and that makes it extremely convenient, to know that your hook is still in place and that you can get very close to a 90-degree angle pretty accurately. ... show more
