The saw was easy to assemble, and easy to use. I was surprised by the size of logs I could cut with this saw. I’ve only used it once, but so far, I’m pleased. I’ve purchased Kobalt products in the past; they’ve always been worth the money.

I was able to saw through 20 inch hardwood into five sections on a single charge. The thing cuts like a chainsaw should. I recommend the extended life battery if you have a lot of logs like I have.     • Broke on first use. Don't waste your time with this model! Read for warranty warning.
I purchased this chainsaw to trim some small trees in my yard. Missed the Spring window so waited until fall to do the trimming. The chainsaw broke on first use. Specifically, there is a dial to tighten or loosen the chain. That dial was not working so I could not properly tighten the chain and the chain kept coming off the bar during use. It was my fault that I missed the return window for this seller, but I was not worried because Kobalt has a 5 year warranty. When I tried to call Kobalt, I found that they don't directly deal with warranty claims but instead you have to go back through your seller to get a replacement. This seller is not an authorized seller for this product and that is not clear on the seller page, so I can't get a replacement. I had never heard of a warranty having to be handled this way and learned the hard way. Be careful and make sure your seller is an authorized seller or just go to Lowes for Kobalt and you will be safe. In summary, this chainsaw was trash and broke on first use and be careful with Kobalt to only purchase from an authorized seller so product warranty will be honored. Or just don't delay using it to be able to return before return window closes. :( ... show more

Can't pull to crank my older chain saw so I gave it away & bought this one. All my tools are Kobalt so I had no hesitation. I love me some Kobalt!! I already have several batteries from my there lawn equipment. I happy to say, it works great!! So happy I bought! Thanks so much guys!!
