  • Great tool!
Unique tool for stripping wires. I needed access to a confined space to strip wires. Regular wire strippers with multiple slots must be used perpendicular to the wire. This one allows direct access to the end of the wire, which is what I needed. Worked perfectly.

  • Quality tool!
Well, I'm mechanic for long time and as such I like to have the best tools. I remember when I was boy and my grand father had american and German tools. At the time they were the best. After the even of the U.S. sending almost all tools production to China there is only one option now to buy quality, KNIPEX! made in Germany! the best! Oh and by the way it is cheap, and what I mean is simple. Buying "cheap" chinese stuff is very expensive because we have to buy over and over again. German tools we buy once and lasts "forever", which one is cheap? you got the picture. The Germans still care about quality and there's a lot of people out there wanting to buy quality. I'm so glad amazon sells Knipex tools! I finally found a hi quality tool brand and a place to buy it! ... show more

  • Meh
Wish I read the reviews. Was hoping to replace my pistol grip stripper and save space in my tool bag. Sucks for strands. Spent fifteen minutes practicing on a test piece of wire. Once it’s dialed in it mostly works. Have to pull too hard to remove the insulation. If you work with stranded wire of multiple gauges regularly these aren’t for you. Can’t emphasize how much I wanted to like these. Just not practical. I work on boats where there’s seldom a serviceable loop. There’s no room for a stripper that’s hit or miss half the time ... show more

  • Cool pliers for multiple gauge wire
I’ve used these strippers on wire from 12 gauge to 24 gauge. If you spend a minute with a test wire to set these strippers up, they will work flawlessly. The big sell for these strippers for me is that it’s a straight forward pull which means you can use these in tight areas because they don’t require the wide spread of any other wire stripper I’ve ever used. If you do repetitive wire stripping on the same gauge wire like 15 amp Romex in tight electrical spaces, once you set this stripper up and lock it down, it’s gold. Hope that helps! ... show more

  • Solid wire only
It does a very poor job on stranded wire but a great job on solid wire! With the stranded you have to pull and pull even thought the insulating has been completely cut. And it's not that I have it adjusted wrong....there is no damage to the stranded wire when I attempted to use it fir that purpose. I will keep the tool since most of my work is with solid wire. ... show more

  • Much needed electrical tool
I avoided buying this for so long. I should have purchased this sooner. I always run into situations where wire is cut too short. Standard wire strippers will not reach correctly to cut, but these are perfect.

  • DON'T BUY THIS TOOL
Please don't buy this tool. Although this is a well built tool, the stripping function does not work well at all. Main reason being that the stripping heads are not circular like virtually all wire strippers. I really wan't this tool to work, but it simply does not strip wire well, no matter how well you dial it in. It will also mar your solid wire, so I can only imagine how poorly these would perform on stranded wire. Knipex makes great tools, but this is not one of them. I actually threw mine out after realizing how poorly this tool performed. ... show more

  • Not Sure About These
These are made in Germany and of high quality. Probably would get into tight spaces just fine. However, they just did not seem to work well for typical electronics wiring, not teflon coated. On one, it just wanted to crease and cut the wire, even though I adjusted the jaws. I wonder if this tool is for some specialized use that the manufacturer needs to clarify. That, or there need to be some detailed intructions on how best to use this tool. ... show more
