Hello there, nice to meet you! ;o) A well made knife bag is worth its weight in gold! Easy to say that this bag is one of them! ;o) This is a terrific, yet sturdy knife bag for those avid cooks like us, who love to have our second-best knives available for camping. You know food prep never stops wherever you go, right? A shoulder strap to carry this roll up case is a nice touch too. The bag itself is well sewn, treated canvas material with pockets to hold your set of chef knives (and knife sharpener) together. There's a flap to keep the knives contained in their slots. I will say, the provision of a surprise, yet helpful plastic nibs, can protect your knife tips, as well as keeping your knife points from puncturing the canvas fabric of the knife bag. It's a lovely touch, but these little gizmos can get lost easily. Perhaps if the manufacturer/seller provided the longer, more suitable blade protectors might be a better gift to give with this knife holder, as a suggestion. Just so you know, we own 3 other versions of this knife bag in different colors, and no holes were found-- even with regular use. I still think this knife bag does what it is supposed to do, namely, protect your set of knives in transit... and it does that pretty well. Just be a bit careful with handling this bag, and you'll be just fine. ;o) Recommended and then some! Give this affordable Lelezone Upgraded Chef Knife Waxed Canvas Roll Bag (Blue) a try... This knife roll has been a great fit for my varied collection of knives, accommodating everything from large Chinese cleavers to a 10" chef's knife comfortably. The material of the roll feels durable enough to handle the wear and tear of transport, just be absolutely sure you use those tip sheaths. It's especially useful for taking my knives along when camping or cooking at a friend's place, keeping everything secure and organized. This makes it easy to bring my own tools along, which is a big plus for any cooking enthusiast who prefers using their own knives outside of their home kitchen & means I'm much more likely to cook with friends.

I'm pretty happy with this knife roll. I had a thicker, harder knife case, but found it unwieldy to work out of. If I was traveling with my knives maybe a harder case would matter. But I'm not. This is a knife ROLL, not a case. It is intended for use in and around the kitchen, not traveling. My knives all reside in a plastic sleeve that then slips into the individual knife pockets in this roll bag, then the roll bag rolls up (imagine that) quite nicely. I find this roll bag to be working exactly how I wanted it to work in my setting, which is my kitchen. It keeps my knives protected well enough under normal situations. I'm quite happy with it.

It fits my extra-large 12-inch chef's knife without any issues, and it comes with point covers to prevent knives from poking through. However, the point covers aren't very effective, and the knives could sit a bit more securely in the roll. It's functional but has some room for improvement.

I will be using this to store and transport larger tools for my leather work (knives, rulers, hammers, punches, etc.) It is plenty big and has an excellent flap that folds over everything for protection. The closure straps are long enough to allow a lot of stuff to be rolled up inside and have good buckles. This knife roll would certainly also work really well for knives (as intended), and for keeping kitchen tools and cutlery organized for camping trips.

a knife roll needs to be sturdy, impervious both to the knives inside and the slings and arrows of the outside world, impenetrable; this is none of those things ... it's a soft piece of (moderately heavy) canvas that a knife point would poke straight through, so they give you a small bunch of tiny (eminently loseable) plastic point protectors, but while these will stop the blades from immediately destroying the case, if you can manage to hang on to them, they won't protect the edges. If you have and travel with full blade protectors, the case might be ok...it's lightweight and has solid snaps, but without those it's really just ok for storage at home. The zippered section at the side isn't gusseted so it's very limited for storage...

I got this for my teenage daughter who is an aspiring chef and baker. She absolutely loves it; but, now I'm forced to buy things to go in it! We are slowly adding quality knives for this; but, if you already have the knives than this is a fantastic addition.

Decent roll case, holds knives securely, and even comes with little plastic tip covers. I only wish the fold down cover was a little longer, as it doesn't quite cover the entire knife.
