If you take care of the knives. They will take care of your task at hand. These knives are very sharp out of the box and durable. It fits very well with the knife magnet block stand. When it comes to rust, I wouldn't place any of these knives in the dishwasher. Would only hand wash since these are quality knives. Wouldn't want to risk the dishwasher ruining an expensive product. So right out of the box I loved these knives, the grip, the weight balance, everything suited my need and they cut through anything. I have had them for a couple of months now and I am starting to notice more ware on them than I thought I should. They are still very sharp and work just fine, but I have noticed they are starting to chip and they show rust spots. The rust spots clean up easily enough with a little elbow grease but aren't they supposed to be stainless? I did not expect there to be chips in them so soon either. Granted they are small, but I am not doing anything crazy with these knives and these are not my first set of high end knives. I loved my Global's, used and abused them for years before I left them behind in a move. Overall I still like them, in a year from now, I will let you know. ... show more

They do require some extra TLC to maintain them long term, but they’re great for the price and super sharp and easy to clean! They’re a good set for someone while becoming a more serious chef.
