These knives are great! They are very sharp. I had no idea how dull my knives were till I started using these. They are not dishwasher safe but that’s not a big deal to me at all. I’d for sure go this route again when buying knives. Easy to wipe down the holder as well.

I have never been a fan of knife sets - the knives are usually meh and many useless when you only really need a couple of good knives. I've had $500 chef knifes that the Ninja rivals. Steak knives are usually a joke in these sets - these suckers are so sharp that when the blade barely graced the tip of my finger it cut a tissue paper thin slice of skin evenly off my finger. When that happened, I knew I have a winner. I have used the Santoku knife religiously as my go to in this set for the past five months and have not yet had a need to even use the sharpener (or sharpen any knives for that matter). I can't rave enough about how much I love these knives!!!! The only thing I do not like about the set is the knife block itself self being plastic. It's hard to clean and everything in your kitchen will build up greasy residue over time. Plastics just never clean well and over time get kind of nasty and it's not something you can put in your dishwasher that is usually the cure all. To get a mostly wooden block, you have to buy a deluxe set that isn't really worth it for most people. A minor gripe but something that most cooks will understand. With wood blocks, you can treat and wax them and keep them in good shape, and you also don't have to worry about the knives making contact with plastics. BUY THESE KNIVES. You will not be sorry. I am also a Shark/Ninja addict and to date, the only product I've never not loved was the NeverStick cookware that everything stuck to. ... show more

I had originally ordered this set directly from Ninja. They offered $90 off and a free pan. Seemed like a good deal. After placing my order and waiting a week, I contacted Ninja to learn the set was backordered for a few weeks. I cancelled my order and immediately ordered from Amazon. The set arrived a few days later and was left in the rain by UPS but wasn't damaged. Pros: It looks nice in my kitchen. The knives are sharp but not as sharp as I'd thought they'd be. The weight of the knives feels good in the hand Great selection of knife types and having 8 steak knives is great. Cons: The block feels REALLY cheap and is extremely light. It moves easily when retrieving a knife. I may epoxy on a small steel plate to the bottom of the block. A set at this price point shouldn't feel so cheap, IMHO. The suction cups don't work very well to adhere the block to the counter. As mentioned before, the knives aren't super sharp. Maybe they need a honing in the attached sharpener right out of the box? The black handles on the knives have a light chalky substance on them. I'm hoping after a good washing that the substance goes away. ... show more
