I was about ready to order an Alvarez Ukulele, when I stumbled across this K-Mise on Amazon. After watching several favorable reviews on Youtube, I decided to take a chance on it. After using a discount coupon and a few bucks of credit I had at Amazon, I got it for $68.00 for the kit that includes gig bag, picks, and a truss rod wrench. First things first, I have a big problem with the way it was packaged at Amazon. The packaging from the manufacturer, thankfully, was very good. Nice thick box, foam wrap around the Uke, and snug inside it's padded gig bag. Amazon then chose to put that in a HUGE box, with only one piece of packing paper which did absolutely no good whatsoever. The box was badly damaged on the outside, and the inner box with the Ukulele was bouncing around all over the place. Luckily, thanks to the manufacturer packaging, it was undamaged. The instrument looks and sounds great. A couple of minor points...the two wound copper coated bass strings were showing signs of corroding and will need to be replaced very soon. This is pretty common for instruments from China though, and isn't a big concern. The second minor thing was that there were a few frets that had a slight roughness near the edge of the fretboard. This, I am fairly sure is due to the winter weather and low humidity. I believe it will be fine after a little while in higher humidity with a home made humidifier bag in the case. If not, then some very slight fret dressing might be necessary. The frets are not terribly rough or poorly filed, just a little shrinkage I think. Again, fairly common with imported instruments that may have stored for a long period of time in a warehouse and then shipped in cold weather. As far as the sound and play of the instrument, it is amazingly nice for the price range, and obviously cheap strings. The action is perfect. One of the main selling points for this ukulele for me was the adjustable truss rod. This is unusual for a ukulele, even at higher price ranges, and can be a major benefit if at some point the neck happens to warp a little, or the factory action adjustments leave a bit to be desired. Overall, it is a 5 star product for sure. I've been playing stringed instruments for decades, and know the difference in junk and decent quality. If you have $300 up to spend on a higher grade instrument, and are that serious about it, go for it, but this one fits the bill very nicely for the casual picker, beginning student or amateur musician.

TLDR: I did a lot of research before purchasing this Ukulele. For the price-point, this is a really great beginners Uke. I have no regrets on this purchase. The strings seems to be of good quality, and the craftsmanship of the Uke is beautiful. A note on the strings, it is NORMAL for them to go out of tune frequently in the beginning. They have to stretch. If you play it a little everyday it'll help the process go faster. Took maybe 4-5 days for me, but I didn't mind as it gave me good practice for getting it just right. The thickest string took a little longer but I only had to adjust it a few extra times. Now it stays pretty well in tune. Sometimes the pegs get bumped when in the soft case, but that is to be expected. I saw 2 posts note that the edge of the frets had a little roughness to them on the edges, and they used a nail file to smooth them out. I, too, noticed a little tiny tiny bit of roughness on the one I received. This is the only negative but can be remedied in a few seconds. It has a nice tone and is the perfect size for travel, playing in a car on long (and short) rides. You can play this softly so as not to disturb others if they are sleeping in the next room or on the phone next to you, or at a normal level as you would expect. It isn't super loud so outdoor playing may not be as loud as you like but from my understanding that is normal for the Soprano's in general. If you like to play outdoors or large rooms where sound doesn't bounce off the walls, maybe go for the Concert size. The Kmise Soprano is a versatile little instrument with a beautiful sound. The included tuner is perfect and simple to use. The little booklet that is included is by far the most helpful little guide I've ever received with an instrument. Be sure to read it and use it to get started. I've only had this little beauty for a few weeks and I'm much farther along than I expected. The case is nice and perfect for keeping the Uke dust-free between playing. It's been handy for carrying to and from the car/other destination, and from the weather. I reached out to customer support to let them know how much I loved this little Uke and they replied back quickly. I have zero concerns when it comes to working with Kmise and I'm happy I went with this Uke.

This is a fantastic little ukulele! It is my fourth ukulele, so I have something to compare it to, and I can say that this is the best sounding one I have. Let's go over it: Pros: 1. Beautiful wood grain on the stained mahogany. Just gorgeous. 2. Inlaid Kmise log in headstock looks expensive and attractive; nice accent that doesn't overwhelm the instrument. 3. Awesome tuning pegs! These are so unique! They are silver, and at a glance look open, but actually have a clear plastic cover, really cool. And, the knobs have a plastic that looks like tigers eye crystal. Super cool. 4. Nice carved shape on the saddle that is subtle but pretty. 5. Two silver toned strap buttons. 6. A rope rosette hole decal that gives it a nautical or country look. Note it is a decal, not inlay. 7. MOST IMPORTANT: it sounds fantastic! 8. Comes with a really nice, small, easy to use tuner with battery. Simple but nice case. Cute checkerboard strap that is thin and comfortable, a chord chart, and a basic ukulele booklet, as well as extra strings. Cons: There is just one con, and it's small but important- it comes with a little piece of sandpaper. Why? You know as soon as you pick it up that the fret edges are sharp and need to be filed down. It's a must. When you do this, be sure to tape off the side of the fretboard so you don't damage the wood. Just use masking, painters, or washi tape. Then, wrap the sand paper around a pencil or thing piece of wood and gently sand the edges of the metal frets. There are youtube videos on how to do this if you are nervous. Overall, beautiful ukulele that is a much better quality than the price indicates. At $55 before coupon, this is a really good deal. With the coupon that it had at the time, it's a steel. :D Before this, I was in love with my pineapple uku that you see in the video; I play it every day. But I think this new Kmise soprano is going to be my new go-to uku. Beginner or intermediate, you can't go wrong with this one!

I purchased this adorable little ukulele because I collect and play ukulele and don't have many sopranos. I prefer to play tenor, and sometimes concert size ukuleles. Asthetics/looks: This soprano has a lovely vintage style look to it. The details are quite striking, yet it is also a very simple design. They have done very well to bring detail where you would typically see with more expensive ukuleles. The headstock is very pretty with it's curveture at the top, gorgeous silver tone tuning gears with glass buttons on the back to see the brass gear inside is a nice detail. The tuning pegs are colored which I always love but rsrely see. I think Kmise did well here, taking the opportunity to out a jewel on the instrument in a sense with the tuning pegs. They are a pinkish, more purplish copper color mix and quite sweet. The fretboard at the bottom where it meets the body also has a lovely curvy shape and is nicely done. The body edges have no binding but on this one, it adds to it's simplistic beauty. The body has a traditional shape which all together presents a throwback to ukuleles of the 1950's. They put a beautiful rope detail around the tradirional round soundhole and it too lends to it's overall vintage look and nod to this classic style. The color of the wood laminate wood grain is very nice, impeccably clean in it's outer craftsmenship. They used D'Addario strings which is a nice upgrade and attention to player interest for quality, and they are flourocarbon so they have a player friendly feel and a clean appearance. Quality: Overall, this is a fantastic beginner ukulele. The volume is GREAT for such a sweet soprano. The sustain is pretty good too. It rings out pleasantly. I have many ukukeles and I am very happy to have this one in my wide ranging collection of sizes, brands, and qualities. Here are areas I think could be improved... I have played her for several days now. Two seperate tuning gears were loose at the nut back to back, creating a rattle that if I did not know about already as a player, I'd have been worried this was a more serious issue with my ukulele. With a little tightening, this was reaolved but it should not have maybe come out of QC that way if this is marketed to new players who would not know what to do with this. I also think the saddle and bridge could be sanded up a bit cleaner. Apart from that, the overall quality is very good on this and I highly recommend this not only for casual or new players but for ukulele collectors and enthusiasts as she is a doll! Also, the action is terrific! Very comfortable and not common to be as low on an economy priced ukulele. They are almost always very high. This is a play right out of the box uke. I super appreciate this. Sound: Again, this has grear volume and clarity, good sustain. The intonation could be improved but once the strings settle more, this issue may also improve a bit. Additional: This ukulele comes with everything and more that a new player would need to get started. I was very impressed with the booklet that covers so many important aspects of getting started as a new player. It's fantastic actually! It also comes with a chord chart for visual reference on basic chords, which is great, a tuner, a strap (uncommon for a soprano to come with strap buttons but this does!), and many other great goodies. I recommend this ukulele and find it very well priced and fair for any new beginner.

I was looking for an instrument with 4 strings (I used to play Viola and Violin, so 4 strings are very comfortable for me) with a really nice resonance that would be fairly easy to learn. My hands are too small for guitar (though I LOVE classical guitar) and I hate the sound of Mandolin, so I went with a baritone ukulele. This instrument is awesome for the price! It has a very lovely tone and is relatively easy to learn. I've only had it for about a month and I'm already playing some simple etudes and pieces (I am not a strummer; I like finger-picking). I'm so, so happy with this instrument! The quality is truly unreal for the price! I am strongly considering adding a tenor uke to my collection sometime soon and will DEFINITELY order from this company again. I won't go anywhere else! I did end up replacing the case. The one it came with was just too cheap for me to be comfortable with and it didn't seem to fit very well. But the case was a bonus anyway, so no worries. If you are looking for a good case, I'd go with the Knox Gear Ukulele Padded Protective Carrying Case (Baritone): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BDZ1YXC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Things to note: -Great sound! -Very, very reasonably priced -Cheap case, but it will work if you have nothing else -Very easy to learn instrument -Strings do go out of tune, especially when they are new and stretching. It's just a reality of playing a string instrument, so don't be surprised. As the strings settle, you won't have to adjust them quite so much. But, your strings are never going to stay in perfect tune. It's just physics. If you are considering purchasing a ukulele from Kmise, I'd say go for it!

I loved the first one I got (a soprano) that I got this one a tenor. This is a great ukulele. I love the color and the tone is warm and bright. I like that there are 2 strap pegs so it gives you options to see where you like the placement of the strap. I also like that you can see the tuneing gears. The gears themselves are metal. The frets are really nice, i can feel them but I don't get caught on them. I was impressed by how well the strings stayed in tune. I understand that new strings have to stretch but once I tuned the ukulele it stayed in tune for the rest of my practice session. This kit comes with a tuner, batteries, strap, extra strings and a bag. All in all I feel that this is a great beginner or traveling ukulele. I had previously bought a soprano ukalele from the same company and I loved it so much that I got this tenor. I ended up buying a low g string so that I would have a low g ukalele. It's great quality and while it might not give professional sound quality, its not a toy nor does it sound like one. This is definitely for someone who is interested in playing ukulele and getting a feel for the instrument without the financial investment. I was also suprised by the tuner, I'm used to the old brick style so this was a new experience and it was awesome. Its Very clear when the string is out of tune and accurate when compared to my old one. Now the only thing I didn't like is the checkered style of the strap it just doesn't fit my style but compared to how great everything else is I can live with it. 10/10 would buy again.

This little ukulele and starter kit are a fantastic value for the price! The instrument itself is good quality, and produces a nice bright sound. I was very happy to just give it a quick tune and start playing right out of the box. Strings are nicely placed with low action, so it was easy to get a great sound on day one. After about 3 days the instrument is holding its tune nicely, and I'm having a lot of fun playing it! The starter kit that comes along with it includes a nice soft-sided gig back with an accessory pocket and backpack-style straps. The uke also has strap buttons, and the strap that comes with it can be used with the buttons or with the included string if you want to tie it on the headstock. The clip-on tuner that comes with the kit is easy to use, and a must when breaking in a new uke. Additionally the kit comes with a spare set of nylon strings, and a "get started" book with a lot of basics about playing the ukulele. This would be a great first-time instrument, as it comes with everything you need to start playing. It is also a good addition for anyone who is looking for a nice soprano ukulele, as it both sounds great and looks really nice. The wood grain finish is stylish but simple, and it has a nice rope design print around the sound hole. The quality at this price point is really excellent -- this uke is fun to play, and I plan to enjoy its music for many years to come.
