  • Turn your hammock into a cozy bed
Style: Insulated
I have only used this while hammocking in florida, so even our Florida nights aren't quite what most of you are expecting. Having said the very first night i used this i woke up not even noticing i was outside while my tent sleeping friends looked like they wanted to sleep in the car (they looked frozen and were all bundled up) 😅 I've slept on this in warm weather here in Florida and i did not feel like this contributed to me being hot at all. I wish it was cheaper so i could buy one for every one I know with a hammock. Highly recommend. Maybe it's just my lungs but it was a bit harder to blow up than it seemed from the description. Overall great product. ... show more

  • Just the right piece of gear!
Style: Insulated
I use a gathered end hammock. I went for a short two night trip in mid-thirty night temps. Rained and light wind the first night. I did not use an under quilt and slept warm all night. Might be a little pricy but it was well worth the costs. I look forward to challenging this to lower temperatures to see where the bottom limit is. ... show more

  • Umm, it isn't insulated?
Style: Insulated
I order the insulated pad. I received a pad in a bag marking it as an insulated pad. Item description says there is a layer of insulation between the two halves of the pad. My pad, the one I received, in a bag that says it is insulated, is just a thin air mattress. There isn't anything inside between the halves or anything like that. I first noticed it when I set up everything on the floor to try it all out before actually heading out for somewhere. This was done in part because apparently winter is coming quite early so I'm not going to get to use any of this stuff this year. Anyway, when rolling everything back up I noticed that the pad felt pretty empty and thin. I grabbed a scope camera and fed it in through the deflate valve to find an empty hollow pad. Upon checking the listing again today to confirm what my memory already told me (that there is a layer of insulation between the two halves), I also notice that today at least the price for the insulated and uninsulated pads is exactly the same. When I ordered this, the insulated pad cost more and I debated spending that extra money and after a few hours decided it would be worth it to have that insulation in the pad, so I spent the extra money for it. Now I find that I paid for an insulated pad, and the pad came in a stuff sack saying it was an insulated pad, but I didn't actually get an insulated pad. Bait and switch? Inventory or manufacturing screw up? I have no idea, all I know is that I didn't get what I ordered. Beyond that this pad on the floor wasn't overly comfortable. I laid on if for a half hour or more in a few positions and while I could probably sleep that way I don't think I would be happy with it in the morning. Yes I let air air to adjust the firmness of the pad and such, it just wasn't that grand to use on the floor due to it being so thin. I suspect that it'll be just fine in a hammock, but have to wait for Spring '22 to find that out. ... show more

  • Gives nice form to hammock
Style: Insulated
I have had 2 spinal fusions and wanted to section hike the AT in a hammock. I shopped and shopped and found this insulated pad from Klymit. It gives the hammock some form much like a bed and the sticky pads on the bottom help to keep it in place inside the hammock. The "wings" are nice as well to help keep you warm when your legs and arms touch the side of the hammock. It was pretty easy to inflate. Just focus on not letting the air back out at the escape flap doesn't necessarily stay in place during inflation. If you have back issues but don't want to let it hinder you from hiking and camping then this is for you. Spend the money and get the added benefit. You'll just trade off a little weight ... show more

  • Comfort on all levels.
Style: Insulated
I was so cozy. The wings on the side sheltered me from the elements and the mosquitoes. It inflated with 22-25 breathes like advertised. Quality mattress, I fell asleep with a book underneath the mattress and didn't notice. I highly recommend this inflatable pad. I have a double wide hammock and it helped to keep the hammock open for me as well. ... show more

  • READ THIS! I really wanted this to work! (Insulated)
Style: Insulated
PROS: When it's fully inflated it is super comfortable. My hammock is wide and with a diagonal lay this is so damn comfortable it's almost unfair. As for insulation I took this down to the 40s and when FULLY INFLATED it did it's job well enough. Another potential pro is I still carry a small pad it case I need to stay on the ground for a night Ideally this means I would be using the pad and leaving an underquilt instead of carrying both. CONS: The most important con is it slowly leaks from the deflate valve. I have tried to get it to stop but even with no weight on the pad it loses pressure. This negates the insulation. In 40 degree weather once you lose loft one side can touch the other. Where it touches the material conducts the cold and it will spread thru the pad actually making it very chilly. In a tent I can see, and have, gotten up to fill my pad in the night but in a hammock this is a huge pain. The following cons could be overlooked if it didn't leak. Folding up the pad in the morning is easier and cleaner in a tent. It's a bit heavy. RECOMMENDATION TO KLYMIT: Replace the deflate plug with a screw valve on the side and this thing will be the best thing ever. ... show more

  • Kept me warm and centered on hammock!
Style: Insulated
This pad kept me nice and warm in my hammock during 32 degree temps. I used a sleeping bag and the non slip grips prevented the pad from sliding in the hammock and kept the sleeping bag in one place. The side wings on the pad also kept my sides and arms warm and prevented me from drifting too far to one side or the other. ... show more
