Yes, there are many surge protectors out there at a better price, however, I wanted to have this for my special application: I've built a large workbench with a table saw being part of it, I've secured this just behind the saw and the lights provide me of better visibility on what's going on there. I could have gone cheaper but I though the additional features were worth the price. The USB ports are a nice addition, although I don't think I'm going to use it. While this was secured with bolts, you can use an iron plate to attach via strong magnets. ... show more

This is an ideal power strip for our garage. I have it mounted on my work bench. The USB ports and the light are unexpectedly useful bonuses. The cord is plenty long, the outlets feel extremely sturdy. It was a bit expensive, but I am pretty sure it will outlast the work bench.

Living in the country we often have power outages. When the power comes back on it often flips GFI breakers. My concern was a circuit that the hotwater heater (the blower) didn't have a GFI. So I thought this was good insurance.

The magnet is very strong. This multi plug is very beefy. Definitely heavy duty. It has a surge protector and power switch in board. Both have indicator lights. Plus USB and USBc plugs.
