  • Beaters are poorly made.
Color: Ice Blue Style: 5 Speed
I bought this mixer because my wife bakes a lot, a lot. She was going through hand mixers left and right. The motors just couldn’t handle the load and would burn out. We bought this mixer and she was impressed with the power of the motor, it would easily get through the thickest of cookie doughs. After the third time using it the spot weld at the tip that joins the two pieces of beater together broke although it was still usable. She used them for another 6 months and then a weld at the base of the beater broke and then it was useless. It’s a shame that Kitchenaid makes such a good mixer but their beaters are garbage. I actually bought a $10 Proctor Silex mixer and those beaters fit this mixer and are made better and more durable. Like I said the mixer itself is awesome, the beaters need work. ... show more

  • Finally, a hand-mixer with a slow speed slow enough not to spew flour everywhere!
Color: Ice Blue Style: 5 Speed
Finally, a hand-mixer with a slow speed slow enough not to spew flour everywhere! My mom still has her very old mixer from when she was a teenager. When you have it on the slowest setting, it slowly incorporates the dry ingredients in. But every modern mixer that I'd bought had such high speeds that even the low would just blow the flour out of the bowl, making a huge mess everywhere. Higher speeds and the turbo boosts were never even needed! It was always frustrating for me to use this as I never could seem to find a bowl tall enough to keep everything inside. This mixer's slow setting actually is slow enough to be useful, though. I can gently mix the wet and dry ingredients without making a big mess! I've only used this a few times so far, so I can't speak to its durability, but I'm very pleased so far. It balances well on its end when you need to set it down and is such a pretty color too. When I looked at the manual I was a bit sad to realize that other models came with extra attachments, however after looking them up it seems that those extra attachments, which can be purchased individually, are also compatible with this mixer. Since these beaters can be used for most things, I felt reassured that this was the right model for me, since I might as well not pay for the extra attachments unless I end up actually needing them in the future. ... show more

  • Poor quality. Not the KitchenAid quality of times past.
Color: Black Style: 5 Speed
Not a good product. I've returned two of them now. It's too bad that KitchenAid is no longer a quality product. I won't rely on their name again in the future. This mixer is quiet. It does have a nice variety of speeds. They offer lots of pretty colors. BUT the beaters are thin, wiry, and very flimsy. On two orders of this same model, the beaters wobble when spinning and move easily if pushed against while beating (are not stable). Again, a feeling of very low quality. ... show more

  • Not worth the plastic it's made from- don't buy this mixer!
Color: White Style: 5 Speed
Purchased this for my son & his new bride. Used it when I went down for their wedding first person to use it - and was completely disappointed with it. It has NO power - I ended up whipping cream for a dessert with their Ninja. I'm 3 states away, and not in a position to orchestrate a return; but I would If I could. I've apologized to them for this awful gift, and advised them to get rid of it. I'll end up buying them some other mixer, since this is such a worthless pile of plastic. Never thought I'd have to say that about a Kitchen Aid product!! Save yourself some trouble and disappointment, and purchase some other hand mixer. ... show more

  • Love/Hate Experience
Color: Ice Blue Style: 5 Speed
My first Kitchenaid handheld was a superior piece of machinery which lasted 7 years. When it died i purchased the new digital version. It was a disaster with unbalanced beaters that threw food all over the place. I gave up on that one after a year when one of the entry holes for the beaters would not let the beater click into it. Broken piece of plastic in the entry hole. I decided to give Kitchenaid one more try. I went back to the simpler 5 speed manual model. It worked as well as my original unit, and I was delighted. Then, a year into use, the same problem with the entry hole. Broken piece of plastic. Beater could not get seated into the hole. An otherwise perfectly good unit in the trash bin. Buyer beware: You are going to purchase one of these every year, year after year, if you choose to go this route. ... show more

  • Refurbished should be very clear to buyer.
Color: Aqua Sky Style: 5 Speed
I received a refurbished item. Went back to see how I missed that and I still don’t see where refurbished is mentioned. I don’t feel comfortable giving this as a gift.

  • Broke after only 6 months!
Color: Ice Blue Style: 5 Speed
I prefer hand-held mixers as I do not want to give up counter space. My Black and Decker mixer died after 20 years. I decided to upgrade and got a Cuisinart. Its slow speed threw dry ingredients everywhere. What a mess! Then a few months later it quit working. Unbelievable! Since I needed one right away, I ordered the KitchenAid on Amazon thinking that KitchenAid is a quality brand. I have had it 6 months and used it about once a week since purchasing. Just minutes ago as I was making cookies and it broke! It wouldn't turn off or change speeds. I could hear something rattling inside. How can these "better brands" make such pitiful products? What happened to quality in America? I am very discouraged. ... show more

  • Great little mixer
Color: Ice Blue Style: 5 Speed
I waited more than a year after buying this mixer (Sept 2019) to leave a review because I wanted to ensure the product continued to perform after my initial delight. Sure enough, this mixer holds up. I experienced no rusting, no issues with the beaters, and no problems with the power. It is easy to clean, the speed settings are perfect, and it gets the job done. Of course, if you're baking twice a week, perhaps you should shell out a bit more to get a sturdier mixer. For my purposes, baking here and there closer to once a month, this mixer is perfect! ... show more
