It was playable out of the box. It's cold in New England, so I let it warm up Initially some slight fret buzz, but after tuning properly it went away. It's stunningly beautiful. After buying it, I was thinking, "Do I need ANOTHER bass?" Five minutes in my hands, "YES!" It feels like a Precision. It plays like a Precision. Not having my amp here I can't account for the sound, but I'll plug it in Sunday. It's lighter than an American Fender, but is the same size as a 70's Precision. The neck is a little fatter, but has a good feel. i bought a 70's Vibe Jazz here 18 months ago, and thought that was a gem. This is just as well made, albeit lighter. The Jazz is the correct size and weight. I'll add more after I plug it in. Another diamond in the rough. The finish, feel, and setup were excellent. EDIT: I've been playing this for the past month. I restrung it with Fender Flatwound strings, 100-50, as it would have come from the factory in the 70's. WOW! The classic Fender Precision sound from the Classic Rock era. Simply superb! I have a '69 Dan Armstrong. a great bass, a '92 (Japan) Fender PBass Lyte, my regular gigging bass for 20 years, a 70's Vibe Squier Jazz, also an excellent classical replica, and an Ibanez SG305 that saw a lot of studio work. But for 60's/70's Classic sound, this blows them all away. Deep bass with a POP! I almost didn't buy it, but I always wanted the classic sounding Precision, without breaking the bank. This is a very good bass for the price point. The build is solid, came setup well, for me, stays in tune well and gives me the sound that I was expecting. Overall a nice instrument.

Squier never ceases to amaze me with the quality of their guitars and the Classic Vibe Precision bass is no exception! It's rock solid with a WARM low end tone. Perfect for R&B (Sounds great when I played Motown, Isley Bros., etc.), blues, classic rock or pretty much anything. Its split-single coil pickup is simple yet punchy. The action of the strings is just right and mine came with D'addrio strings on it. It was ready to play. The vintage look is just pretty; black finish, glossy neck with block inlays, the vintage lettering on the headstock is a NICE touch. Overall, this is an awesome bass...great for beginners, amateurs, even pros. I highly recommend it! ... show more

Bass arrived 24 hours after I ordered it. Surprised at how light it was. I let it acclimate for 24 hours then tuned it to standard EADG. Tag on the neck said it had been set up by ‘Vera’ and packed in December 2022. Set up was fine, no buzz, just the right amount of relief. Fretboard/truss did not require adjustment. Played it through my Fender ‘Rumble’ modeling amp and was pleased with the sound. Impeccably smooth finish , love the maple fretboard. ... show more

What i was looking for that classic fender p bass tone !
Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2026 by For the money I'm impressed with this bass overall setup was good out of the box did need a little tweak for my taste the finish is killer hardware is solid bass stays in tune pretty good pickups are a little better than two former squire basses that I once owned for what your getting is a solid quality bass should be worth more than it's $69 price tag I think squire could learn a thing or to when it comes to quality control.

I started playing guitar about 3 years ago . I mainly play rhythm guitar. I am a believer in purchasing quality instruments but since I am far from a professional musician I stay in the middle of the road on cost. Recently, my band wanted me to play bass. I originally thought of getting a Fender P Bass but I couldn’t justify the cost at this time . Enter the Squier P Bass. I couldn’t be happier . All of the musicians I play with (which are vastly more experienced than me) have all commented on how great of an investment I made . I read blogs and reviews . They all say that this is a perfect quality middle of the road bass. I may not be an expert but I have received a lot of compliments on this bass . By the way , the mahogany is gorgeous ... show more

Gorgeous guitar but was dead on delivery. Thought it was the cable but. No reply from seller. Here are the inspectors for reference. UPDATE: Still no response from the seller. After bringing the guitar to a repair shop, found out that this guitar was used and had modified components. I have no idea how that could happen but this even worse. ... show more
