The blade and disc fit inside the bowl to make storage easy. I have the first generation which I bought over 40 years ago and it’s made in Japan. The motor is still working strong however, the plastic container and top has had problems the container I fixed the crack and then now the top is falling apart, where it clicks to make it run Moving on I say this is short of excellence because I worked in restaurants and we used Roba Coupe simplicity is where it’s at. They’ve made too many attachments to this and if using the cutter, you have something sticky it’s difficult to pull it out. I would preferred having two bowls doing different things. I have corporations they go for a price point and decide they’re parked on the price point. I received the item and as a problem with some of the parts, customer service is excellent on the first day I make a pa Pate style turkey stuffing and I sauté the chicken livers with shallots and a white wine other stuff and I put the food processor. It worked excellent today. I made the sweet potato mousse. This is where the blade got little sticky and difficult to pull out delivery of the item was very good. It was a day late, but I got it just in time because my turkey thawed out too fast and today I cooked the turkey so we have Thanksgiving early, which is a good thing.

What's not to love about this food processor? It is sleek, matches my stainless steel kitchen, runs fairly quiet and all parts store nicely within the unit. I have been using a Hamilton Beach Scovill Emma food processor since 1988. It has served me well as I was cooking for my growing family. I received an Amazon gift card and after watching all the videos and reading reviews, this KitchenAid is the one I chose because it sounded less noisy than the others in its category. I was slightly hesitant because I had been using one with the side chute but am very glad that I made the decision to go without that feature this time (less mess!). Once I received my new food processor, I immediately grated 2 blocks of cheese. Nice! Today, I made homemade gyros all in the bowl. It took less than 5 minutes. The handle is comfortable and I like the way the bowl attaches and releases. All parts store nicely in the bowl so no scrounging around for attachments. I am so happy with the results of using my new 9-cup food processor and VERY HAPPY that I decided on this model. Would recommend!

I really like this food processor. It's easy to assemble and does the job lickety-split. Cleanup is easy as all the pieces go in the dishwasher. It's also amazingly quiet! Two things I don't like. When fully assembled, it's quite tall so you need a shelf that has at least 16" above it. I also wish it came with a second reversible disc for finer shredding and slicing.

Since we've gone vegan, we make lots of sauces. This machine is super quiet, so easy to clean, doesn't take up more space than a blender which we don't use anymore since this does everything we need. Very simple to use; three buttons. Holds about 7 cups. Highly recommended.

I have had a small KA processor for 20 years. After regularly watching an amazing cook show, I realized how much "help" in the kitchen I was missing. This is the "help" I needed. It chewed through a bag of sprouts to make a salad in short order. This is a big, powerful piece of equipment. I can't wait to put some pastry dough together with it. The lid retainers are much better than the little brother version. Latch instead of twist lock! As others mentioned, accessory storage is really nice.

ONE YEAR LATER: I'm still disgusted with this food processor. As stated in my original review - IT'S CHEAPLY MADE. In less than 1 year, I had to replace the bowl. The flimsy handle created a problem with the screws on the bottom & the connection was lost - the blender stopped working. Since it was within the one year warranty - Kitchenaid replaced the bowl. I'm a baker. If you like to bake and make pie crust, this food processor is a nightmare. The bowl is too deep & the blender doesn't pull from the bottom well enough to mix the butter before it starts to soften. Speed is key when using cold butter or other cold ingredients. You can see the different grades of mixing when using this for crust of other grainy mixes. I have to knead by hand to get the dough well blended. It's also terrible for cookie dough & bread dough. Again, the bowl is too high & doesn't blend well. It shakes when using for tough batches. It's great for dry ingredients or for use for 2-3 cups. I will be buying another food processor bc this one is horrible for my needs. I purchased this food processor before Christmas 2022. I had a Cuisinart for 15 years that I loved. The lid broke and it would’ve cost me almost half the price of a new one. I decided it was time to buy a new food processor. I have several KitchenAid products that I have had for 15 to 18 years. I love my stand up blender and I would never trade it in. I love my immersion blender and use it all the time. Both have stood up over the years. The obvious choice for me was to buy a KitchenAid food processor because the brand has always been reliable. When looking at the pictures on Amazon, I was not incredibly impressed with the design. I decided to go with the brand that has always been good to me, the KitchenAid. When I took the product out of the box, I was still not impressed with the design. The first time I used it, I was happy bc it has the power I need. Fast forward…. Now that I’ve used it a few times, I’m incredibly disappointed with the construction. The plastic is cheap , the handle on the bowl is incredibly flimsy, the bowl itself is a thin cheap plastic, and the lock looks like something you would see on a child’s toy. I love the power that this food processor has. It does the job that I need it to do but I’m waiting for it to fall apart in my hands. I’m at a tipping point - I’m considering packing it up and sending it back. The lesson that I’ve learned from buying this product is that nothing is made to last anymore. In the future when purchasing an appliance I will go to the store, look at several brands, touch them, take them apart and evaluate the construction before I purchase anything online. Would I recommend this product? I don’t think so. I’m incredibly disappointed in the construction.
