The button on top has a slight delay when turning on. Give it a moment before turning dial to adjust speed. This isn't a high torque mixer. Charges quickly and charge can last awhile. This was handy with blending my tomatoes, but not my cake batter that I add pudding too.

My favorite handheld mixer (Braun) has been with me for many years, and is my go-to for making flaky pie crusts. The beaters are round wire, and they are most excellent for mixing flour and shortening. The only thing I don't like about my mixer is the electric cord. Finding convenient places to plug it in, dragging it across the workspace, and winding it around the mixer for storage are things I'd rather do without. So the prospect of a cordless mixer with wire beaters was too good to pass up. When I first took this mixer out of the box, plugged in the beaters, and turned it on, I was not very impressed. It sounded a bit noisy (as others have observed), the lowest speed was much faster than the low speed of my corded mixer, and the beaters weren't balanced nearly as well as I would expect for a mixer at this price point. Nonetheless, I was determined to put it to the pie test before passing judgment. The lowest speed was a bit too fast initially, and some flour got splashed out of the bowl, but I adapted my technique and was able to make it work. I liked how light and balanced the mixer felt in my hand, and paying no attention whatsoever to the recommended 3-minute duty cycle, I was able to get the shortening cut in just fine. The pie crust ended up being one of my best ever. Fast forward to the meringue -- the whisk attachments worked better than I could have imagined, whipped up the meringue in a short time. High speed on the mixer was a good setting, and I ran it The mixer didn't want to stand up on its own, but it stayed up just fine when placed in the charging dock. Very convenient, too, without the charging cable attached. It had a small footprint that I liked, and it didn't seem all that noisy once I got it running. I didn't mind that it doesn't have an ejector button for the beaters; they pulled out of their sockets easily enough and didn't make any extra mess. All things considered, this mixer rates four stars from me. It's not slick enough to be five stars, but it's good enough to bump my favorite handheld mixer to a backup role, and I would recommend it.

At first, this hand-held mixer delighted. It’s pretty and pearly, and has been designed ergonomically. Compact and cordless, it takes very little space in my island drawers. It has a good weight that I immediately associated with quality. Turning of the knobs was pleasing and exciting, as I’ve only seen a clicker power a mixer before. It’s a very responsive little unit. As being so intuitive, there is a caveat. The mixer will halt if it is blending a particularly sticky or tough substance. Then you must wait a second or two before you can turn the dial back and forth again. I was never going to finish my cookies. After not making much headway, the device started smelling of burnt chemical. I spent more time trying to make it work than I did actually blending the dough. This specific blender is only for quick, light-duty jobs. To be fair, its intended uses are named in the listing. There is no deception when it states the mixer is strictly for batter and whisking eggs. Also mentioned in the listing, the whisk and beater attachments are larger than the typical. A whole wad of cookie would get completely encased in the whisk with each go, having to be pried out. This feature is meant to incorporate more air into your mixture to have a fluffier result. Again, this unit is not good for anything sticky and clunky! It’s honestly a super convenient tool to have for quick whip-ups. I’d use it for making my homemade Caesar dressing. It’s a lot less arm-power used, as I imagine I won’t have sore biceps from seasoning the bowl and after slowly incorporating the olive oil. Having this done fully and correctly allows the dressing to stick to each lettuce leaf. It’ll be my next task for this tool. Lastly, I love that there isn’t a cord in the splash zone, which is one less thing to get dirty. The unit stays cleaner. Who likes fighting with a cord, in the way, snaking its way back into your work zone? For the convenience alone, this deserves 5 stars.

I am a fairly accomplished cook, and especially enjoy baking. While this little beauty won't knead your bread dough, it will whip egg whites, cake batter, or whatever edible you can think of that doesn't require the torque of a stand mixer. I like the power display, so I know when to recharge. I whipped up a souffle and a layer cake with 90% power remaining afterwards. The beaters insert easily, securely, and do a very nice job moving things around in the bowl. I am REALLY happy about being untethered from the electrical outlet and the power cord. It's light weight and comfortable to hold. My only criticism is that I'd like a few more RPMs, but that is more than compensated for by the convenience of cordless mixing, be it at the stovetop, campsite, or patio barbecue. I just love it!
