I bought a 1996 Classic Silverado truck that had the original stereo with separate CD player that needed replacing. I rely heavily on reviews before I make any purchases but I decided to "roll the dice" on the Boss 650UA. At 50+ years old I didn't see the need to spend huge money on a stereo for a standard cab truck. One concern that I had was compromising quality for price. WRONG ! What started as a stereo and new speakers has blown into a system that's nothing short of AWESOME ! I know there are those who have unlimited funds that spend thousands on a great stereo, I'm not one of those people. I bought the Boss 650UA Head Unit, Boss CH6530 Chaos Exxtreme 6.5 " door speakers, the Boss CH4630 4x6" speakers for the rear posts and a Sound Storm EV 400 4 channel amp. It sounded pretty good but lacked bass. I could have stopped there but I continued to improve the system over the next two weeks. Next was the Sound Storm SSL S4EQ Equalizer. (Sound Storm is Boss). Then I bought 2 Boss Audio CXX10 Chaos Exxtreme 800 Watt 10" Subs and a Boss Audio R1100M Riot 1100 Watt amp to drive them. I was on a roll so why stop there ? lol Next was the Boss Audio NX694 6x9 4 way 800 Watt full range speakers with a Boss Audio PT 1000 Phantom Amp to drive them. All packed into a Standard Cab truck. lol Also bought a 2 Farad Capacitor and a Power Distribution Block just to be safe. Getting ready to complete my system with 2 Tweeters and then I'm finished. So with everything said and done I have less than $ 400.00 into this entire system and let me say it ROCKS ! No engine noise, no distortion, just crystal clear and clean music at an affordable price. The 2 Subs under the seats sound fantastic ! I could have bought the Clarion, the Alpine etc., and the price tag would doubled or tripled but for me this is an awesome system that's worth every penny. If I had it to do all over again I wouldn't change a thing ! My suggestions would be TAKE YOUR TIME ! It's any easy "Do It Yourself" install if you follow the wiring diagrams that are provided. Also use the thickest gauge wiring that you can -Amps, Speakers, Battery, Ground, etc.. Don't buy a great system and then skimp on the wire ! As far as the negative comments go, I would ignore them. Boss makes quality audio at affordable prices. I would have to recommend Boss Audio to everyone !!! Comment Comment | Permalink ... show more

Just replaced two of four factory speakers with these, and can't wait to do the other two! They sound amazing, especially for the price. Pretty good bass considering they aren't amplified or anything, and I can hear some sounds that cannot be heard by lesser speakers. Clear sound and with the wattage they have I hope not to have to worry about blowing them. The only drawback is that they were supposed to fit my truck (1997 Nissan extended cab) and they really don't without a great deal of effort. So don't trust that you will just be able to put them right in your vehicle, just because Amazon says they will fit. Since this is not a problem with the actual speakers, I am not deducting any stars for that though. **UPDATE**** I really can't install these in place of the stock back speakers. They stick out too far and would not only be aesthetically unappealing but would prevent me from being able to open the jump seats. I could install them elsewhere in the truck with some more effort but I don't want to do that. I prefer to just use something that at least kind of fits. I am going to return the 2nd pair and have ordered some that have less power but that hopefully will fit better. ... show more

I just needed some 6x9 to even my bass out had Kenwood 6x9 and they blew up.now I have two Rockville 12s 2500watts a piece need two more 6x9 will make it perfect

This is the real deal. Outstanding sound quality and can handle significant highs and lows. You need to understand speakers and how to set them up. Most people throw in big speakers then crank the volume without dialing them in. Once these are properly set up you will be unable to remove the smile from your face. ... show more

First I love boss products and support the brand. So I need speakers for my car, so it was a no brainier to go with boss. Since my whole car is supported by Boss radio,amps, and etc. I purchased this speakers after my first set of boss speakers went out (chaos)set. I went with this speakers cause their watts. On my one day off a week I got the install and they sounded great for a day. The next day out of them went to cutting in and out badly, so went I got off that day I went back to my installer an had he check everything. He stated to me to return them quickly cause one of the speakers was defective, so I contacted Amazon. They are a great company the send me out replacement speakers in two days and they sound great. But now I'm just waiting to see how long they last? If I could I would give no Stars to this product. Thanks for nothing!!! ... show more
