It is hard to fill ( you have to fill it behind where thr ice basket goes and it is very awkward) but it works great once it has water in it!

We used this thing about every other day for two months while camping last summer and never had any trouble with it. It is a little noisy, but it does the job.

Great item!! It's as advertised, I have a small efficient fridge and being home long term sick, the ice trays in the freezer just didn't work anymore, noise level is basically like the fridge, you don't hear it after a couple days, very good solid ice cubes, not exactly the same as trays but it works for me, I would highly recommend and buy it again.

Works great. Produces solid ice cubes. Much more ice mass per volume to minimize storage compared to the typical hollow cylinders most others produce. Power usage only slightly higher than our old cylindrical but mass production is significantly higher. Operating on boat with solar and inverter.

I purchased this item months ago...many months ago actually...to replace another branded similar items. This is a great unit for home...we also use this when we go rv'ing as it is very portable for the amount of ice it produces. Definitely a hit" with fellow campers! I received this ice maker to provide a review. It arrived with a dent on the back. I didn't bother sending it back but I did remove the panel to ensure that the internal components were not damaged. There was no damage inside so I proceeded with evaluating the ice maker. The outside of the unit did have a plastic smell similar to a new refrigerator. I couldn't detect any odors from the inside of the unit and looked perfectly clean. I recommend to anyone using this unit, to read the included instructions first. On initial setup, it needs to be set to do an auto clean cycle which lasts approximately 30 minutes. That is a nice feature of this unit and there is a drain plug on the bottom of the unit. After cleaning and draining the cleaning water, I refilled the water reservoir with filtered / bottled water, which I recommend to prevent scale buildup. The MAX fill line on the water reservoir is there but not easy to see. It's embossed on the white plastic on the back of the inside as you look past the ice tray. From the time I turned the unit on, it began producing ice and filling the ice container at a 6 minute pace. Meaning, it dropped a tray of ice consistently every 6 minutes - impressive. It has a light that can be turned off or on and does a great job of illuminating the ice chamber. Operation of the unit is easy and straight forward. You can choose two sizes of ice - small or large. I didn't notice any difference in the time it took to make either size of ice so I left on on large. The unit comes with an ice scoop and has a storage place on top of the ice maker. The ice maker fit perfectly on my counter and under the overhead cabinet with enough space left over so that I can keep the scoop on top. This is my first time using a dedicated and compact ice maker but one thing that I came to realize, is that it is not meant to keep the ice stored. Even though it produces ice constantly, the inside chamber isn't insulated or kept frozen. Before I realized that, I left the unit on overnight and kept hearing the unit cycle. What happens is that the ice in the container eventually melts, and refills the water reservoir, triggering ice production. Basically, if the ice is not removed, it continuously melts and is refrozen, over and over. What I do now, is that when I need ice, I turn the unit on and continue to fill it with water until I no longer need ice. When I'm done, I dump the ice and turn the unit off. It has found a home on my bar counter and for that purpose, it works great for my needs.
