This item is fantastic. Used it the first time yesterday and it started the car right up. Battery had a dead cell. Perfect Fathers Day or Christmas for EVERYONE! Don't buy the cheap knockoff, you get what you pay for.

This DeWalt lithium jump pack and flashlight combo has a lot of good things about it. Nearly everything about the build quality, packaging, and the accessories are top tier. To start off the case is thick, sturdy and fits the booster pack and cables well. Having several other off brand packs this is a nice plus as the extra large clamps stay secure and don't try to fall out or have to be weirdly folded to close. As for the clamps see picture for the size comparison. They are extra large, well built and are not flimsy like others. Cables connecting the plug and clams if flexible and thick. Boosting off an old 5.9 diesel with a lower battery you can definitely hear and tell the speed difference in the starter motor vs just using a well charged battery. This old diesel lost its prime and cranked for 20 seconds or so without a hiccup from the pack. Temperatures remained cool and the pack did well. The included light is bright, easy to activate and provides adequate light to work at night. No included wall charger and the included charging USB C cable is rather short. Final flaw I see in the pack is the rubber flaps will not stay closed. The only flimsy part on the pack are these rubber dust/moisture protectors. Something I'd expect from a cheaper pack not one of this quality. As for its main purpose, I believe it has adequate power to start most any car with only 1 limitation. Like most boost packs on the market outside of Noco, there is a safety feature that requires a certain voltage from the existing battery. While I haven't been able to pinpoint the voltage amount this booster will not work if a battery is completely dead or bad. If you've left your lights on, or its cold/hot outside this is not an issue. If you have a junk car that sat in the fence row for a year, its not likely going to activate the boost pack with a battery having no voltage at all. This flaw along with a few other minor details when compared with the premium DeWalt price tag is why I gave it four stars instead of 5. Still a great pack, will be my go to but wish there were a manual override on the activation of boost current.

I can't say enough good things about these jump starters. I keep one in every vehicle because they are simply safer and more convenient than traditional jumper cables. The biggest advantage is not having to maneuver vehicles around just to get close enough to jump a battery. Whether you're stranded in a parking lot, on the side of the road, or working on equipment, you can just connect the jump starter and get going. I've used these on everything from mowers and tractors to trucks and cars. They are incredibly versatile, and I've even used multiple units together when dealing with larger trucks that needed extra help getting started. This particular unit also does a great job holding a charge. I typically pull my jump starters out a couple times a year to check them and top them off, and I've never had one be dead or unavailable when I needed it. The USB power option is a nice bonus and makes it useful as an emergency phone charger, but the real value is the jump-start capability. This is one of those tools you hope you never need, but you'll be very glad you have when the time comes.

I got this as Vine item to review, I really expected this jump starter to be a top quality tool. Out of the box it showed it had very little charge so I used a USB charging block with the supplied cord to try and charge it. It would show 1 blue dot out of 3 and then start blinking fast like there was a problem. I tried other cables and charging blocks with the same results. Being a Vine item I can't return it but I wanted to give it a fair try for a good review. I contacted DeWalt and found this item is not made by DeWalt but a 3rd party. They put me in touch with them and they sent me another one. To my surprise this one had the same problem. I messed with it for way too long trying different chargers and cables. I finally took it apart and reset all the connectors and it them would take a charge. With it all charged up I went to try it out, doesn't work. I checked the ports the jumper cables go in and there's 12v there so the problem must be with the jumper cables. I'm not messing with it any more, I'll recycle the battery and scrap the rest.
