The product was much thinner than I was expecting. It definitely has a distinctive water proof barrier side, so you can place the proper side of the cover onto the mattress. The part that is touched with the fitted sheet (or skin), is not very soft at all. But we’ve only been using the item (with a fitted sheet on top) for three days now. I do have a split king adjustable bed. It fit the mattress ok. It could have been a smidge bigger for deeper pockets. We had to buy a glorified rubber band to wrap around the mattress to prevent the protector cover and bedsheet from constant coming off during the night. I’m satisfied enough with the product that I won’t be returning. But if you are extremely picky or fussy about how your mattress is protected, you might want to look into other options. Or at least heavily weight them. ... show more
