What can I say, it's a pretty cool little tool. Professional feel, definitely an upgrade over a cheap and basic ELM327 dongle with a free app (such as Veepeak with Car Scanner app). The Kingbolen Ediag Elite utilizes it's own app that has countless features and options with a sleek look. Still in the process of exploring, but overall, it does the basics (plus way more) that I want it to. If anything, it probably has more features than I want or need (I'm an at home DIY'er, not a professional mechanic). Best part is, the only cost of this tool is the initial purchase. There is no annual subscription or other forced upgrade options. This is the single biggest reason I chose this tool over the other popular affordable bluetooth bi-directional options such as Topdon, Thinkdiag, Launch, Mucar, Xtool (no sub but more $) and other more expensive mainstream basic options like Bluedriver (non bi-directional, no subscription fee but has much less features than this mini powerhouse Kingbolen Ediag Elite). I did a ton of research to find the most affordable bi-directional bluetooth OBD2 diagnositic device with no subscription fees, and this is what I landed on. Couldn't find anything else even close. App has an easy user interface and nice reports. One minor thing so far, would be the scan process is 'slightly' on the slower side (not unbearable, but seems like it could and should be much quicker), but wonder if this is something they'd be able to address with an update? If you're on the fence, give it a try. Customer service seems to be friendly and responds fairly quick if you may run into any issues. I'm sure they'd be willing to help solve a problem if you were to run into anything and may consider a return if you're regretting it (check with return policy first, not sure on that, don't take this as any type of advice). So far, I like it. Will continue to test it out and will update review if anything major is discovered.

The E diag elite is a great scan tool , it is better than my matco scanner. Great to read codes and read freeze frame data. It is great to have when on the go without having to carry a big tablet. It has many functions like stream data to monitor data to compare many data values to known good values. It has the actuation functionality to help you control different components to help diagnose a bit faster. Good for the d.y.i or for the professional automotive tech who wants to carry a good reliable tool that is not as bulky as a normal size bi directional scan tool. Definitely a good scan tool to have in your bay. Great option for those new automotive techs who are just starting out and do not have the money to buy a 2k plus scan tool.

It works as long as I can figure it out? The instructions are very very vague and I can not find more instructions anywhere. Basically I'm on my own, on how to use it's full capability. But it does work great for basic usage.

I was in the market to replace my old outdated scan tool and came across the KINGBOLEN Edian Elite I took a chance and ordered it. I received the Scan tool, followed the instructions, and downloaded the app to my phone. I plugged in the scan too to the OBD 2 port. The scan tool was quickly recognized by the app. The scan tool scans and finds all of the modules in your vehicle. I did a scan of my truck the scan tool found a code and I was able to click on the code search the web! I found videos on how to repair it and what part I needed quickly. This scan tool can do real-time monitoring, and recording (data logging). The scan tool can also actuate different models so you can diagnose windows up and down (is it the motor or the switch), relays, etc. I'm very impressed with the scan tool it has 90% of the functionality of professional scan tools at a fraction of the cost! One of the best parts is Lifetime updates! I would not hesitate to buy this scan tool

I have a tablet with android 14 and an older device with android 9. Their app will download on the older device but not my new one (google store states its unsupported for device). In signing up with older device I was not able to get past setup account. Kept responding with username already used regardless of what I chose. Finally I put in an insane username that no sane human would use and it still responded with already used. Likely buggy software for the older android version. So since I'm unable to use the new device or the old device this thing is a brick to me without ever plugging it into an OBD II port. So I'm unable to even buy a tablet or ???? since the latest android version isn't supported. WTH?

This scanner is great can do everything my large scanner can , super compact and I can keep it in my glove box with ease . the app is also very straight forward and connects quickly does a full scan and can clear codes with no issues great value for sure

This is a great value and gives you a wealth of information on the health of your car. I wish car manufacturers built this capability on steroids into their cars. It is very important to enter the Vin correctly. I didn't find that he auto VIN reading function worked for me. But once the VIN is correctly entered it's a fantastic tool.
