  • Great entry level scanner good for techs and DIY Great entry level scanner good for techs and DIY
If you're looking for an all in one OBD2 scanner that delivers top tier functionality without the headache of subscriptions, the KINGBOLEN Ediag Elite is a MUST HAVE! I’ve tested a lot of scanners, but this one stands out. First off, the lifetime updates are a game changer. No need to worry about paying for updates down the road. This tool keeps getting better, ensuring you're always equipped with the latest features. The AutoAuth feature is a huge plus. For anyone with FCA vehicles, this makes unlocks the SGW. Something that can be a pain. The bi-directional control is another major win. This feature gives you the ability to actively control and test components in your vehicle, like a professional. Whether you're activating relays or adjusting settings, this scanner has you covered. And let's talk about ease of use. Just pair it with your phone and you're good to go. The app is super intuitive, and the setup is quick. You don't need to be a tech to figure this out. It's just plug, pair, and scan. Plus, it works seamlessly with both iOS and Android, so no matter your device, you're good to go. Overall, if you're after a reliable, user friendly OBD2 scanner that offers real power and flexibility (without any hidden fees), the Ediag Elite is definitely worth the investment. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Excellent OBD2 diagnostic tool
The Ultimate Diagnostic Powerhouse (5/5 Stars) "I’ve used several scanners, but the Innova 5610 is in a league of its own. It’s not just a code reader; it’s a professional-grade diagnostic tool that saves me hundreds in dealership fees. What I Love: Bidirectional Control: This is the game-changer. I can actually send commands to the car—like testing the fuel pump, AC clutch, or electronic parking brakes—to see exactly what’s failing before I start pulling parts. Dealership-Level Features: It handles advanced tasks like ABS bleeding, battery initialization, and oil light resets that most consumer scanners can't touch. Comprehensive Coverage: It provides enhanced diagnostics for ABS, SRS (airbags), transmission, and engine systems across almost all vehicles from 1996 and newer. Repair Integration: The Bluetooth pairing with the RepairSolutions 2 app is seamless, giving me access to a massive database of verified fixes for the specific codes it finds. Verdict: If you’re a serious DIYer or a mechanic who wants dealership-level calibration and relearn capabilities at a fraction of the cost, this is the one to get. It’s robust, fast, and incredibly intuitive." ... show more

  • Professional style setup with reasonable upfront cost, no subscription fees Professional style setup with reasonable upfront cost, no subscription fees
What can I say, it's a pretty cool little tool. Professional feel, definitely an upgrade over a cheap and basic ELM327 dongle with a free app (such as Veepeak with Car Scanner app). The Kingbolen Ediag Elite utilizes it's own app that has countless features and options with a sleek look. Still in the process of exploring, but overall, it does the basics (plus way more) that I want it to. If anything, it probably has more features than I want or need (I'm an at home DIY'er, not a professional mechanic). Best part is, the only cost of this tool is the initial purchase. There is no annual subscription or other forced upgrade options. This is the single biggest reason I chose this tool over the other popular affordable bluetooth bi-directional options such as Topdon, Thinkdiag, Launch, Mucar, Xtool (no sub but more $) and other more expensive mainstream basic options like Bluedriver (non bi-directional, no subscription fee but has much less features than this mini powerhouse Kingbolen Ediag Elite). I did a ton of research to find the most affordable bi-directional bluetooth OBD2 diagnositic device with no subscription fees, and this is what I landed on. Couldn't find anything else even close. App has an easy user interface and nice reports. One minor thing so far, would be the scan process is 'slightly' on the slower side (not unbearable, but seems like it could and should be much quicker), but wonder if this is something they'd be able to address with an update? If you're on the fence, give it a try. Customer service seems to be friendly and responds fairly quick if you may run into any issues. I'm sure they'd be willing to help solve a problem if you were to run into anything and may consider a return if you're regretting it (check with return policy first, not sure on that, don't take this as any type of advice). So far, I like it. Will continue to test it out and will update review if anything major is discovered. ... show more

  • No ECU coding!!
This is a very functional bidirectional scan tool. Obviously you can read obd-2 codes and I/M status and clear them, and see freezeframe data for codes, but you can also read live stream data, and graph up to 4 data streams, and perform actuation tests. The tests you can perform depends on the vehicle and the modules available. For example, on a 2010 ford escape it will only acuate the headlights and high beams simultaneously, but on a 2015 Honda odyssey I could acuate the left or right headlights individually. On the Ford I can acuate the windows and door locks, but on a 2005 Silverado I can do windows but not acuate the door locks. So it's all vehicle/ module dependent. However, it still makes it a very effective tool for diagnostics. My biggest disappointment is that it WILL NOT CODE THE ECU!! You are going to see some functions on the app that make it appear that it does, but remember that it uses the same app as the kingbolen ediag pro and kingbolen soloscan both of which CAN access the ECU. So with that said, you are getting a very functional app based scan tool for less than $100 that has a ton of good diagnostic information and functions, but you will not be able to program/reset TPMS, program or add keys/ FOBs. Basically any hard-core access to the ECU is not available. It supports autoauth for use with an FCA account for those who need it for CDJR vehicles. Honestly u can't go wrong for the price. ... show more

  • The 2025 Ediag Elite with Lifetime Software Update - a Must Have OBD2 Scanner The 2025 Ediag Elite with Lifetime Software Update - a Must Have OBD2 Scanner
The 2025 Kingbolen Ediag Elite OBD2 scanner came in a sleek/modern design. It arrived inside its own little case and was nicely packaged. The black and silver reinvented design was somewhat appealing, but mostly the lifetime free software update (no yearly renewal) was the deal breaker for me. The device came packed with all vehicle systems, 15 service resets, and lifetime free software update. It seems solid enough although not rubberized on the outside like the other Ediag. Instructions on how to install the Ediag app and create an account to activate the device were included in the box. When the device is plugged into the OBD2 port of the car, it shows a green light; once you access the Ediag app and tap any function, the light turns blue. The first time, you may have to wait a little for the system to be updated for your specific vehicle. Then, you can run a health test that will show you the overall state of your vehicle while pinpointing each specific issue. You have the option to save the findings as a report or PDF file and they will be saved in the app icon titled “Reports”; it also has an app icon titled “History” that contains all the vehicles that you have diagnosed with the scanner. This is an amazing device for that price and it comes with so many perks. While I wish that the manufacturer would have kept the outside rubber cover in the Ediag Elite design for added protection, I really like the modern look of the device. When not in use, I will make sure to keep the device in its hard case so that it lasts a long time allowing me to enjoy the free lifetime updates. Currently, the cost of the device is around $100 on Amazon. For the things I was able to observe, do, and even manipulate in my vehicles with the Ediag Elite (easily turned off that TPMS light), it is worth every penny in my opinion. This device can access the immobilizer to program keys for some (not all) vehicles. The special functions I tested all worked well and without any issue. At this price and for the time being, I think that it is fair to give this device a rating of 4.75 out 5 as it meets expectations for functionality, connectivity, ease of use, portability, and level of accuracy. If the outside of the device was rubberized, I would have definitely given it the full 5 stars in my first impression review. I will report back if I see any change in these expectations as I continue to use the device. ... show more

  • So so scanner, inaccurated profiles, buggy, and hangup
I decided to purchase this scanner for it bidirectional troubleshooting capabilities after viewing a few rosy YouTube videos about it; however, the result is just not up to all the hype! After the initial registration account and installation of the app on my IPhone, I spent sometime getting familiar with its functions, then I tried it out on several vehicles of old and fairly recent models. Here are some of my observations: 1) Loading and scanning were very, very, very slow, I meant hours, and Bluetooth connectivity was not consistent even when the IPhone was right next to the device. When that happened, the app just hung-up in an endless error/confirm cycle, and the only way to reset it was to physically disconnect the device from the port, wait a few seconds, then reconnect it to the port. I spent hours just to get a single scan after several cycles of hang-ups. 2) The downloaded profile, and the presented information of a car was not always accurate, showing wrong and/or missing options. For example, the profile downloaded for a US-built 2011 Honda Accord showed a diesel engine and w/o an automatic transmission, just to name a few! Same sort of incorrect/missing options for other vehicles (2013 Accord); 3) Bidirectional troubleshooting capabilities were not available for some vehicle models; and, 4) Navigation among different tasks were cumbersome, no way to cancel a task once committed. For example, once it was committed to perform a task, going back will take just as long or even longer, there is no way to just cancel it immediately! In conclusion, this device maybe good for some vehicles, but it was not for those vehicles that I have used it on, not even for quick obtaining the trouble codes, since for that, I can use my other device. 12/6/25 Update: Minus 2 stars! Plugged it into a 2025 Accord, and it had no profile for it. Plugged it into a 2006 Civic, built in US w/ automatic transmission, and it loaded the profile for a Chinese market model w/ a manual transmission. Since the profiles were so inaccurate, I am afraid to try any of the bi-direction control features since it may cause damage to the electronics in the vehicles. It has since become an expensive paperweight on my bench! ... show more

  • Not the best dongle scanner but it's actually pretty good.
I found the scanner to be quite good for the money. Some people have said it's slow, I actually found it quite fast (not counting the autovin feature) lots of diagnostics data and control for the money. The reason I ended up returning it was the function I needed wasn't supported for my car. Website said it was , device said it was and it did try but it couldn't actually do the TB relearn on my 2002 maxima it would try and just kind of quit. Though I did like some parts of the tool , the price , birectional control under 100$ I could close the windows do active test and stuff. It's just the 1 special function I needed didn't work. But that's the way it is with scan tools some are better with certain brands and functions than others. I did like and would have kept it, as I was impressed with this and modern Obd2 dongles in general . Back like 10 years ago when I first tried them they were very slow and could barely code read. Modern ones can give decent much more expensive scan tools a run for their money. I didn't keep it though because, I already have other scan tools and there are other dongles that are even better than this one for around the same price. However depending on your car and needs I could see this fitting many DIY'er and newbies purposes quite well. It's much faster than my old stand alone scan tool, and connects better than other dongles I've tried. So there are many positives to this tool, it just didn't fit my particular needs. ... show more

  • Useful tool
Gas cap not properly tightened and the car generated a fault code implying a serious problem. Common sense prevailed and I resolved the issue at zero cost. Lesson learned was that I probably needed my own OBD2 scanner “just in case”. Bought the Ediag Elete about 6 months ago and have used on 3 vehicles- none my own. It works through your smart phone. It does require WIFI but it’s rare I’m anywhere where my phone isn’t connected. Registration and setup was easy. I like that I can download free data for practically any car, scans include information for multiple systems well beyond basic OBD2 codes, I can clear fault codes , and there are a number of two way functions. The phone app easily provides useful information and advice related to any fault code detected. The free download feature means that it should remain useful for a long time. I will not try to compare the Ediag Elete to other units on the market. What I will say is I like the unit and find it easy to use. The help It’s provided family and friends has paid back the $100 cost several times. I’m quite pleased with the purchase. ... show more
