  • Very sturdy and relatively easy set up
Size: 10 x 20,White Cover
I am so glad I spent the extra money for a canopy with 2" diameter legs! I used the canopy for an outdoor antique show. Set up was relatively easy for two people. I also ordered sidewalls separately. During a very windy day the canopy held fine, while others blew over or had to be held down by owners. During the night a thunder storm occurred, with about 2" rain. When I checked the canopy in the morning, everything inside was dry and unbroken. However, one foot pad was bent when the tent arrived, which made it impossible to securely anchor one leg. Also, the sidewalls did not fit exactly (I ordered the kit directly from King Canopy, supposedly made for the Hercules model.) The canopy is very heavy. I recommend the wheeled carrying and storage bag. The shipping boxes were useless (torn and loose) when the canopy arrived. ... show more

  • Very Good for the Price
Size: 10 x 20,White Cover
This is a sturdy canopy that is quite easy to set up. The steel tubing is larger and stronger than I expected when I made the online purchase. The canopy has a feel of quality and strength. The written instructions are quite clear. All the pieces fit together easily. I am a 70 yr old guy, and I easily assembled the top portion and stretched the canopy material into place by myself in less than an hour. I could easily attach the tall legs to one side of the canopy assembly, but I needed a little help in tilting the assembly up for attaching the legs to the second side, so I called my wife to come out and assist. We did it with no problems, and the job would be even easier for a slightly younger and stronger couple. One young person could do it all by himself or herself. I have read where some people have complained about how the legs may come off if the canopy is blown upward by the wind. This is something that no idiot, of any age, should ever allow to happen. The canopy absolutely must be tied down, or it will become a 10 ft x 20 ft kite capable of carrying someone away with it. First of all, be sure not to set up on a windy day without a couple of big strong helpers and a way of quickly anchoring the kite. For wind security, I purchased heavy screw-in canopy anchors from Home Depot and followed the canopy manufacturer's supplied instructions for tie-down. Just this past week we here in North Texas experienced multiple thunderstorms with high winds. I worried about my new canopy, but it shows no sign of having moved an inch, and my Jeep Grand Cherokee shows no storm damage at all. My installation site is somewhat protected by a pecan tree on one side and a storage shed about 5 ft away on the other, so an open-field site may need much stronger tie-down support than I installed. The manufacturer says that the canopy should not be left up in strong storms, but I think that strong tie-downs should make it OK. It is possible that the canopy fabric might tear, but winds of that speed would probably damage a metal awning as well. Of this type awning, I think this King Canopy Hercules 8-leg is extremely good. The next step up is all-metal construction with solid foundation support for high winds, resulting in a significantly larger investment. ... show more

  • Sturdy canopy after almost 7 years
Size: 10 x 20,White Cover
I bought this canopy February 2016, and it has been outside in the sun and wind in Southern California since then (it's Nov 2022)... It even survived COVID! ...lol. Never had a problem with it and the cover just now tore during a big wind storm. I recommend using UV resistant parachute cord to stake out from the top poles at each leg. The frame has not budged an inch and the feet are sitting on dirt with only long nails through one hole per foot. ... show more

  • Great space....
Size: 10 x 20,White Cover
Had it up all summer and winter in New Orleans, with no problem--the larger poles are worth the cost. I had my canopy sort of wedged between the fence and the garage, and its placement there added additional security against elements. I also have the mosquito netting for it, with fairly good results (cats have ripped it in places). Unfortunately, the screen only has one opening. Four years later, with constant exposure five to ten months per year, and setting it up and breaking it down, and using it for our camp site, I still rate this a 5 star. I've moved, and now it is free standing, anchored by sand bags hanging off both canopy tarp and frame. After all this, the plastic tarp is wearing thin at spots, with some water dripping when raining. But I bought another large tarp to go over the original canopy tarp, and fixed the problem. The additional tarp over the canopy provides additional shading underneath the canopy and a cooler feel. When setting the canopy up, I use ratchet straps to assure the poles fit into each other tightly. The 2" polls hold up really well. My 150 pound son on occasion has jumped up (off a table) underneath the canopy to grab the ridgeline pole, and the frame hold him, no problem. ... show more

  • Seems durable. Would buy again
Size: 18 x 27,White Cover
I wanted something semipermanent to park my camper under at our hunting camp. Camper is 8x22 and this worked PERFECT - my uncle had bought this one about 2 years ago for the same reason and was pleased so I gave it a go. First it came 3 days sooner than planned which was great. It was boxed into 2 long heavy cartons. All the poles are the same length (you add en extension for the ribs) so it was easy to layout. No instructions but myself, sister and aunt laid it out and put the tarp on with out issue. We had help when lifting to place the poles but was easy enough. I like how the poles had endcaps included and extra bungees: seems durable. My uncles has been up now for two years and seems to be holding up well. This was the only company that I found that did multiple sizes besides the standard 10 x 20. I would buy again and in fact looking now for a smaller on to park a truck under ... show more
