The reviews for this product are unfairly negative and I wanted to balance them out with my positive experience. I bought the 12 inch model and had it installed in the cargo area of my SUV. It is working with my decent factory system that had a pathetic factory subwoofer. It was installed with an 8 gauge stinger pro wire kit and an aftermarket level adapter. Pros Takes up almost no space at all and the box shape is ideal for people who don’t want a goofy looking square or rectangular subwoofer box Sound quality is good. I’ve had powerful high end systems before.     • Don't buy!
These subs blow both fuses, I had to return mine in just a few days. Kicker knows about the issue with subsonic filter at low volumes and did nothing to fix the issue. It's just a matter of time until the unit will start blowing fuses, some in a day like mine and some in a few weeks or months but eventually all have this issue. I can't believe that a reputable company like Kicker would sell a product with a known defect and don't take the steps to fix it. Amazon is an amazing company and accepted the return, it's not their fault, thanks to their best customer service on the planet and they should listen to all the bad reviews, contact Kicker to solve the issue and not continue to sell Kicker's defective items because they will get lots of returns on these. Although Kicker has some good products, this isn't one. Yes, it sounds great when it works, but it's short lived and not worth $500. ... show more

Installation was very easy with the integrated amp but within 15 minutes of it being hooked up, (and I didn't have it turned all the way up) the subwoofer blew and is now rattling.

I listen to range of EDM and heavy bass, which I would think kicker could easily support . Cuts out at 1/2 the volume and 1/2 the power settings as my Rockville powered 10” unit did .
