Description

With a double-stacked magnet, the CompR provides powerful bass and a thunderous low-end response for the thump you crave when the volume knob needs a workout. Our signature, red double stitching makes an outstanding bond between the improved Santoprene surround and polypropylene woofer cone. You get deeper bass that stays pumping. The advanced suspension system includes a large-diameter spider for linear movement and a distortion-free sound. Heat is the enemy of endurance. To make our subs even more reliable, KICKER engineers developed Forced-Air Cooling to help our CompR subs run 25 percent cooler. Every CompR includes two sets of brass voice-coil terminals, spring-loaded and covered in a lustrous satin nickel finish. A simple push of the terminal gives you the wiring options you need to get the most out of your system.

I have replaced all my speakers in my Bronco. Alpines everywhere except the sub and front kick panels. Kick panels now have Memphis MJP6. The Sub is this Kicker 8”. I removed the panel around the speaker. Took out the OEM. I did have to modify the Kicker by trimming the outer edge of the speaker. If you take your time it is simple to do and then this fits perfectly in the same area. I connected the wires and reinstalled the panel. Make sure you add some poly-fill behind it. It really made a difference. I must say this last speaker upgrade really made the difference. I did not replace any electronics…the B&O amp is still there. I think the whole system sounds great for an OEM amp and head unit. If you want to upgrade your sub, then this is an inexpensive option. ... show more

    • Perfect for it’s niche, know what your getting.
This isn’t a ‘windy’ sub, and it won’t take a 3k amp, but that’s not what it’s built for. It’s a balance of sound quality and efficiency, still getting reasonably loud. I have one on a recoil red 600, and I still turn it down in my neighborhood as to not ‘advertise’ having audio equipment where I live, so it definitely makes noise. I did extensive testing and settled on a .75ft3 box tuned to 36hz, and in my Outback it plays +-2 dB from 31-110hz. ... show more

Really a great subwoofer. Kicker's always get a bad rap, but I have used several Comp-R kickers over the years and they are truly a great sub. Not the most powerful, or the loudest, or the best sound quality, but for the price, they are really hard to beat. The sub FEELS high quality when you take it out of the box, and it looks it too. I installed this subwoofer in a free-air application in the rear deck of my Honda Civic. Running it at 8 Ohms with around 75 watts and it sounds CLEAN. Deep lows, and enough punch to let you know it's there. I replaced a 10 inch JL in a ported box - of course this is not as loud, but I regained all of my trunk space and it still sounds really great! In a small sealed or ported box, this sub probably slams - if it pounds hard in a free-air application, I know it must sound great in a box! ... show more

Great bass from a small sub. I didn’t want overpowering bass and this sounds really nice in a sealed box. I don’t think there’s a better sub for the money.

I put in two wires for 1 ohm with a 1 ohm stable 500w monoblock amp in a seal box. Fits nice behind my truck seats and sounds great.
