    • Decent replacement sub but needs elaborate installation
This was purchased to replace a blown JBL subwoofer in an 04 4Runner. The hole patterns do not match the old one, so you have to make new ones. The box needs significant modifications and trimming to fit the depth so be ready for that with your Dremel tool. Once installed, the sound was good.     • Fits Dodge Dart 2013-2016 rear deck nicely
This is a fairly easy fit for the rear deck on the modern-era Dodge Dart and produces great sound and handles plenty of power once set up. Some of these cars came with a subwoofer already installed so in my daughter's 2013 Dart Rallye we were able to fit this subwoofer in the same location since the hole is present whether or not the car came with one. It seems to work great with just the trunk volume of air behind it and a Kicker subwoofer amp: the CX400.1. After mounting it and getting power from the battery and the factory radio's signal back to the subwoofer amp from under the center console this speaker provided plenty of bass. The only caveat on this particular car is that you have to track down all of the potential rattles on both sides of the deck; there are a couple of horizontal metal rods near the backside of the deck, in the trunk, that will rattle like crazy unless you put some tension on them and pull them away from the backside of the deck with some kind of foam pad for example. ... show more

Purchased this as replacement for a blown OEM subwoofer in a 99 Lexus LS400 with the Nakamichi Premium Stereo. Original sub was 6 ohms; so I followed the included instructions to wire the Kicker in an 8 ohm configuration. This is an ideal replacement as it is designed for free air applications. Installation was not as simple as removing the old sub and installing the new one using the same bracket. The original factory sub and mounting bracket are one single piece. To mount the Kicker in the rear deck of the car, I purchased an MJM Subwoofer Speaker Adapter Ring on Amazon for a 2006-12 Toyota Rav4. Two of the 4 holes line up perfectly. I traced the original bracket onto a piece of cardboard, then used that as a template to drill 1 new hole into the MJM adapter ring. With that, I was able to align 3 of the 4 holes with the factory bolt locations. It feels secure and works with no rattles. Very satisfied with this Kicker CompC 8" subwoofer!
