Uses less space on my sink area. Nicer to look at then a bottle of dish soap. I've seen reviews where customers stated leaves soapy water in the top tray. If you squeeze out the excess water in the sponge before pumping more dish soap onto the sponge there won't be any soapy water on the top tray.
