No WiFi but works great

The AkaGear DS10 Keyless Entry Door Lock has been a great upgrade. Installation was surprisingly easy, and I really like the convenience of using the fingerprint reader instead of having to carry or search for a key. The fingerprint recognition works well and makes getting in and out quick and simple. The only downside for me is that it doesn’t have built-in Wi-Fi for remote access. I would have loved the ability to check or control the lock when I’m away from home. Other than that, I’m very happy with it. If you’re looking for an easy-to-install keyless lock with reliable fingerprint access and don’t need remote Wi-Fi control, this is a great option!

Looks good and worked well...for about 6 months until my kids broke it. My children played with the inside handle lever one too many times and it will now only open the door if you pull the handle up. Not a big deal but internal parts might be lacking durability. Other than that its nice. The key pad dead bolt is just as good as name brand products.

Simple to set up and use, working well for over a year

I've had this installed and in use for over a year now, and it's holding up just fine. It's been working great except for once when it got "jammed." It was not long after I had it, and the door wasn't quite closed. The lock tries three times to engage, and after that stops. That one time I couldn't turn the knob, and I couldn't lock or unlock it through the keypad. I ended up taking it apart and putting it back together to free up the mechanism. There have been many times since that the door hasn't been completely closed (kids!!!) and the lock did its three attempts at locking, but it continued to work just fine. Installation was pretty simple for me as I was replacing an existing deadbolt with this unit. I don't recall having any trouble installing it or setting it up. I do use the auto-lock feature, and I've changed that setting a couple of times, so the flexibility it provides is nice. I discovered by accident that if you unlock it within a few seconds of it auto-locking it will not auto-lock again. I don't know if that's by design, but you need to be aware of that. It's actually a nice "feature" for when you want to leave the door unlocked for guests, or you're carrying groceries in and don't want to leave the door open for the bugs to think they are welcome. Programming and setting codes is pretty straightforward. I do like the "peek-proof" "disguise mode" on the keypad. You can enter all the numbers you want with your code buried in the middle of those entered, and it will recognize your code. For example, If your code is 1234, you can enter 98712349010 which makes it look to prying eyes like you have a much longer code than you actually do. Battery life is great. I've never changed the batteries yet from the original install. The only other issues I've had is that if you want to unlock it right away after it locks, you need to wait a second or two for it to finish its motorized action. Otherwise, it can end up kind of in limbo as you're "fighting" the motor. If I find myself in that situation, I use the keypad to lock it and then unlock it again with the keypad, just to let the motor do its thing completely. One other issue is that for some reason I cannot use my fingerprints for very long. After a short period of time my fingerprints no longer work. My wife's fingerprints have been set for a year and are still working fine. I'm guessing that my fingerprints must morph regularly as I have the same issue on my iPad. Have fun matching my prints to a crime scene! lol

I bought this for my daughter as a Christmas gift and installed it for her just after the first of this year. This item has some nice features, including mechanical key, fingerprint, opening and digital touchpad as options for entry up until recently. The product worked just fine and now it doesn’t work at all. It is DOA I’ve done all the troubleshooting to try to correct the problem and the item is just dead so overall it worked until it didn’t and now it doesn’t work at all and it’s only three months old. The instructions say there’s a one year warranty and I’ve spent about as much time trying to figure out how to activate that warranty for refund or replacement, but to no avail. These digital entry keypads are really nice, in fact I have one on my house, which is the reason I bought one for my daughter and her husband for their new house. I have a different brand and model and it works just fine and it’s a year and a half old and it’s been a problem free. If you’re thinking about buying a keypad like this, don’t get over excited about the features and benefits of this model because if it stops working just over three months after installation, you might as well spend your money elsewhere. I’m very disappointed in this product. Unfortunately my Amazon return window is closed, yet the product is still under warranty. I have no clue as to how to contact them. They do not make it easy. Their only troubleshooting are videos they direct you to, some of which aren’t even about this specific product. I have removed this product from the entrance door and put back the original mechanical deadbolt since this one is no longer functional. All I can say is "caveat emptor"! I do not recommend this product under any circumstances. UPDATE: (5/8/26) Finally was able to get through to them with the help of Amazon. The company sent me a new unit. It was a challenge to reach them and It wasn't easy. That said, I appreciate them sending out a new unit. They want me to return the defective unit however I have instructions, address or RAN etc.
