Description

Kero World is the brand trusted by millions since 1982. Quality materials and construction, along with a 2-year warranty, makes this heater brand a standout. The KW-24G convection style heater is a popular choice. It projects 23,800 BTU's of heat in a 360 degree radius to heat a large area. Also great for winter power outages and emergency situations as it provides both heat and light. The Kero World portable indoor kerosene heater is great for heating small to medium indoor spaces (up to 900 square feet). Matchless ignition makes this a convenient source of instant heat--without having to plug it in, either. The built-in 1.9-gallon tank gives you up to 12 hours of heat. The manufacturer recommends using only clean kerosene. Two-year warranty.--Josh DettweilerWhat's in the Box Heater, C batteries (2) Five Tips for Buying a Heater Choosing a space heater is a matter of sifting through a bewildering array of types, power ratings, and fuel sources. Let's break it down a little to make the process easier. What are the different types of space heaters? Radiant heaters emit infrared radiation that directly warms the objects in front of the heaters (rather than the surrounding air). If you only need heat by a desk or in a small section of a room, a radiant heater is quiet and will use very little power.Forced-air heaters use a fan to blow air that has been warmed by metal or ceramic heating elements. A forced-air heater is appropriate for quickly heating up a small- to medium-sized room, but can be noisy.Convection heaters draw cold air from the floor; the air is warmed by heating coils and emitted from the top of the heater. A convection heater is appropriate for quickly heating up a small- to medium-sized room, but also can be noisy.Radiators work by heating oil enclosed in a reservoir, gradually heating the surrounding air. If heating speed isn't an issue, you might want to opt for a radiator. These are extremely quiet and effective--perfect for bedrooms.Should I buy an electric or a combustion model? If you want a heater that will be available in emergencies, or that can heat areas larger than a single room, choose a "combustion" model--one that is powered by a gas or fuel like propane, kerosene, natural gas, or diesel. Which fuel type you choose depends largely on convenience and local availability. For example, diesel would be appropriate for a heater you take with you on long car trips. How powerful a heater do I need? Heaters are rated by BTU, which stands for British Thermal Unit (the amount of heat needed to heat one pound of water by 1 degree F). To find out how many BTU you need: Calculate the volume of the space to be heated by multiplying square footage by height. Multiply that number by 4 if your insulation is poor, 3 if it's average, or 2 if it's good. The resulting number is a ballpark figure for how many BTU you'll need.Do space heaters cost a lot to operate? As a general rule, electric space heaters are more expensive to use than combustion models. To ensure energy efficiency, a thermostat is a must-have feature for any heater. For radiant heaters, models with a 360 degree heating surface can heat larger spaces. If you need a forced-air heater, models with ceramic elements tend to be more efficient. Are space heaters a fire hazard? Space heaters are implicated in about 25,000 residential fires every year. To ensure proper safety, always follow the manufacturer's usage instructions and fill out the warranty card to receive informational updates from the manufacturer. Also, look for extra safety features such as an automatic shutoff switch that can shut down the unit if, for example, it gets upended. In addition, choose a model where the heating element is adequately enclosed within the unit.

  • great heater, lousy igniter
Heater works great for the shop use, igniter sux. Original lit once, then failed, replacement lit twice, then failed, we use a BBQ lighter now. Starts and stops create too much stench for in-house use. We tried to use it as backup heat when the furnace failed, but, it's too odoriferous, (wife used a whole inhaler of albuterol in one night), had to get radiant propane heaters. ... show more

  • Product Exactly as Described
Kerosene heater arrived on schedule, well packaged, and undamaged. Unit is well constructed with quality materials and a beautiful finish. Assembly instructions well written allowing for an easy assembly. Operating instructions are well written with adequate details. The only issue I experienced was its suitability for intended use by my older sister which I will explain. The order came directly to me for checkout so that I could explain in-person how to operate as part of my hand-off to her. My sister is well into her 80's, limited mobility, lives alone, away from family, in an all-electric house in a small town in Kansas. This issue I discovered was her ability to safely lift the heater which is almost 34 pounds when fueled. I quickly concluded that she would not be able to lift and handle that amount of weight safely. I subsequently emailed the seller (via the Amazon service) of my concern. Seller's response arrived the very next morning, accepting my reason for return, with no questions asked. Overall I give the seller high marks, both for the service as well as the product being of high quality, exceeding my expectations. Having discovered the weight problem, I stopped short of actually using the product as a heater. In retrospect, I should have paid more attention to my sister's physical limitations before I ordered the heater. Had I been the intended user, I feel I would have been 100 percent completely satisfied. John - Retired to Hill Country of Texas ... show more

  • It started smoking after 3 weeks.
I bought this heater because I had one for 5 years and it finally just wore out, so I got another. Same style, same everything. After 3 weeks it started to smoke and now it wants to light strangely and reek of kerosene. The burner is right, assembly is correct. I called the manufacturer and they stated to reach out to the seller. I reached out to the seller and they said to reach out to the manufacturer, and that they only accept returns 30 days in, which I understand. Just be warned that they are not built as good as they used to be and I may be out $280 bucks. ... show more

  • Great emergency indoor heat made easy!
I highly do recommend this product if you live anywhere where it gets cold enough in the winter that the pipes can freeze in your home without continued heat supplied by your regular home furnace. This product will guarantee that your home and plumbing system will not freeze, as well as your family, as long as you have the kerosene to fuel this wonderful American product! Thank you Kero World for this wonderful solution to the cold indoors! Sincerely, Jon ... show more

  • Good Heater
I bought this heater for two reasons: 1) Emergency heat. We lose power and need to ensure that we don't freeze the water lines and try to stay as comfortable as possible. Power can be out from 1 hour to 1 week...etc. I also use it for elderly parents. Works great at heating their house and keeping them safe. 2)Bonus heat in my unheated work shop (700-1000 sq. ft). Works great in the winter, I am able to work in short sleeves. Easy to light, easy to adjust, easy to fill with kerosene, and easy to move around. My only dissent is that the handle does tend to spring loose when rotating it to pick it up. I will be fixing this soon with snap rings or slightly bending the handle or something like that. Read the included instructions and follow them if you have never had a kerosene heater before. ... show more

  • Super heater
Great product. Easy to set up. It heats extremely well in our open air family room. If anything, we turn it down. Hasn’t been below 19degrees out but heats great. No CO gas detected with our digital CO monitor. Even right over the top, zero Carbon Monoxide. Came early too!

  • Safe operation!
I used it to heat small house. Two things I wish I would have bought the smaller one because there is no temperature adjustment and it's too big for the space I heat. Also it's too heavy for me to move around, otherwise it's a good heater.
