Description

Their subwoofer enclosures are built to last, with solid construction and subs that are made to kick out the jams. Subs built to dish it out The P-XW1221SHP comes loaded with one 2-ohm 12" Excelon Series subwoofer. The sub's polypropylene cone features a diamond array pattern to minimize distortion, while the rubber surround and computer-optimized stress-controlled spider keep things on track. The speaker is designed to dissipate heat generated by extended high-powered use, with internal works that direct airflow to avoid overheating. A box made to take it The rugged enclosure is built from 5/8" MDF with a 3/4" thick internal baffle to give the sub solid support. The box's slant-back design suppresses standing waves which can interfere with bass response, and allows it to fit neatly behind the rear seat of an SUV. Rounded port corners reduce port noise and airflow resistance. The P-XW1221SHP can be used in front- facing, rear-facing, or down-firing applications. A steel-mesh grille protects the speaker from accidental damage. This box handles up to 500 watts RMS, so you'll want an amplifier with the power to get the best from this enclosure. The P-XW1221SHP is performance-matched to Kenwood's Excelon X502-1 amp (sold separately). Whatever power source you choose, you'll get huge bass with the performance and quality you need.

For a single 12” sub this thing sounds great. It is a great value for the money (if you can get one for $250 like I did) and fit right into my trunk where I wanted it. The box got delivered pretty roughed up but the subwoofer/enclosure doesn’t appear to have sustained any damage. I got this to replace a Pioneer TS-SWX3002 12" Shallow-Mount Pre-Loaded Enclosure, Black, Mini-v308 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FR5HAU0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which blew after about 1 year of use. I finally smoked it! In my research I found the Kenwood Excelon P-XW1221SHP 12". I'm powering with a Kenwood Excelon X802-5 amplifier. This gives the sub 500w RMS @ 2ohms. The ported design gives it a great boomy sound. So much more bass than the Pioneer sub that I had. The box design is great since you can face the sub out or down. Having a grill included is a great bonus too. Definitely a great sounding sub a fair price. The quality of the carpet is much nicer than the Pioneer sub I had. ... show more

First let me say, shipping was fast. Like, very fast. The sub was expected to be delivered two weeks after the order, it came in two days! The sub itself, overwhelmingly crushed my expectations. I just wanted something that gave good clear bass without out distortion or overshadowing my highs. This delivered much more. I paired the Excleon 12inch with an kenwood excleon x500-1 amplifier. Wired at 2ohms, they are match made in haven. I was skeptical, going with a single voice coil preboxed setup, but I love it now. And the build quality of the box is perfect, none of that cheap plywood here. It’s punchy, and handles deep notes very well. I have it set up in a 90’ fox body. Now I’m thinking about getting two of them to put in my Pathfinder. I highly recommend this product from this dealer. ... show more

Paired with a cheap Planet Audio 500 watt amp in a Volkswagen Touareg. Standard 4 gauge wiring and a JVC head unit. The sub sounds great for what it is. It’s a single 12 that puts out clean sounding bass, hits some nice lower notes and immerses you in the music. This isn’t a competition subwoofer, so if you’re looking for something that’s going to shatter windows, look elsewhere. If you’re after something to bring those lower notes up to a point where you can feel it without blowing your ear drums, this is a great buy. ... show more

I have it hooked up to a Rockford Fosgate amp pushing 750 rms. I have the amp turned down a bit since the sub handles 500 RMS. With it maxed out, the vibrations in my mini cooper actually vibrates your eyeballs no bs. I can feel it like a freakin massage chair set on psycho hahaha. Highly recommend this box and sub combo... great value and even better sound. ... show more
