Deteriorated quickly

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Purchased the bike approximately 60 days ago and have put about 100 miles on it. Already the barrings in the back hub are no longer rideable to the point of the back wheel wobbling when spinning. Yes I have tried to tighten the wheel and tension. Called Amazon and they only have a 30 day warranty and Kent will not place typical wear and tear items. Overall not happy with how quickly the bike has deteriorated and I would not reccomened.

great budget bike for commute or recreation

My first ride on this bike was Sept 2nd 2017, and at the time of writing this review I have logged around 106 miles on this bike via a Garmin watch. I'm around 5'9" and I love the fit of this bike. Upon arriving I was able to put the bike together pretty easily (first time doing so), but I still made sure to take it to a local shop to make sure it was assembled correctly. Both wheels needed truing, especially the front wheel which was visibly wobbly. However this is easily taken care of at a shop or by yourself if you have experience. Either way I'd highly recommend taking the bike to a shop if you aren't experienced. After some adjustment at the shop the bike rides and shifts smoothly. The brakes that come with it brake decently with some effort, but aren't the best. Also I have not had to air up the tires at all in two months. Overall I am happy with my purchase so far and believe this bike has been worth the money up to this point. If you are looking for a cheap, fun road bike to commute with or just want to hit the road on the weekend I'd highly recommend this bike. I will try to update this review in the future once I get more mileage on the bike.

Bent Spoke and Wobbly Front Wheel

Firstly, The front wheel was easy to install but would not sit straight no matter how many times I tried to install it, it always wobbled. The instructions tell you to simply try again if it is wobbling. Second, one of the spokes on the front wheel was slightly bent which is unacceptable. Third, this is cosmetic but on the front of the bike frame there was some discoloration in the paint that almost felt sticky. Lastly, the instructions fail to explain where the shifters are to be installed so I had to zoom in on the picture to understand the installation. I'm very disappointed with this bike. It gets a one star from me mainly because of the front wheel not aligning and the bent spoke and due to those reasons I did not ride it at all.

Good, but tune it up instantly

I got the bike to start cycling. It was easy to put together and for starting off its not bad at all. It looks good and its fun to ride. I use it for sport/exercise but I can imagine that it can perfect for commuting uses. The only thing that prevents me from giving it 5 stars is the fact that my front break were rubbing when I ride, making me slower. GET A TUNE UP OUT OF THE BOX!! A tune up will cost you anything from $40-50. It will save you time and prevent any possible head aches. The bike isn't expensive so a little more definitely goes the extra mile and will make your first experience with it better than just hopping on it after assembly.

Great Bike

This bike is really good for the money. With all the mixed reviews, I didn't know what to expect, and when I saw the box was a bit beat up I was a bit concerned. But once i opened it up, inspected all the parts before putting it together, I can say that the bike looks great and no parts were damaged in transit. I haven't had this bike long enough to comment on the longevity or long term durability, but after a few rides I'm very satisfied with this purchase. The only reason this bike loses a star, is due to it lacking a mount point for a water bottle and because I had to tweak the front brake calipers a bit to prevent them from touching the wheel when not being used. The handle bars are also a bit low, which means I'm hunched over when riding (but it does provide me with a good arm workout). One thing to note too, and I saw a lot of questions about this on the product Q&A page: this is a larger bike, even though it says it's a medium size. I'm 6'1" and this bike is a perfect size for me, however I'd say it might be difficult to ride for those under 5'9"-10", so that's something to keep in mind before ordering. Overall though, solid starter bike to get me into cycling. 4/5!

not a performance bike

i have a mountain bike and wanted to bike on the road ,bought this thinking it would give better performance and i can ride faster on the road. It does but very little boost compare to mountain bike. Its a good bike but if you are looking for a performance one this is not. Also, changing gear is not smooth and makes noise and have to constantly adjust the front and back to make the noise go away whenever changing the gear. also wasn't able to go all 21 speed, certain combination of front and back are not possible to do. couple of time chain got dislodged during the uphill chaining gear making it dangerous. Tried to call the vendor but put me on hold for a long time and i gave up.

Gotta do it. Gotta give it a 5.

Not sure if it was a mistake or not, but I assembled and tuned it up myself. Let's just say getting this thing together taught me more than I'd ever like to know about a bike. I jacked up the frame from having to move the front derailleur about 20 times. And it's still not exactly right. But ultimately, I got this bike for 140 dollars (it was an open box item), which is absolutely insane. Good luck trying to find a better deal than even the 180 or whatever it is for a new one I've put hundreds of miles on it so far with no signs of any problem. Oh and the seat is god awful, I would buy a new one ASAP. Also the pedals don't allow for feet straps

Could Not Have Been Happier - NYC commuter

I purchased this bike back in March to commute to work 17 miles a day round trip in NYC. In honesty, I bought this as a quick fix to taking the subway during the surge and peak of our Covid outbreak with the expectation that I would purchase a better bike after a few paychecks. However, this bike as surpassed my wildest expectations and has performed wonderfully. Durable and comfortable, I've ridden almost 1000 miles at this point with no degradation issues. Normal maintenance is required of course. The gear shifter is not as precise as advertised, but at the price point, can you really complain? I can't speak to other's experiences, but if I was faced with the same decision again, I would purchase this bike without question.
