  • So far so good!
Color: Orange
I bought this bike to prove that to ride fast and showing good time you don't need expensive bike. Buy it was easier that i though :) Bike came in good condition, everything works. Breaks are kind of ok, but they work (must use both). Only thing i had to change right the way is the front sprocket for a bigger size. Had this bike for 150miles of hard riding, so far so good. I'm very impressed that it works so well! ... show more

  • not a performance bike
Color: Orange
i have a mountain bike and wanted to bike on the road ,bought this thinking it would give better performance and i can ride faster on the road. It does but very little boost compare to mountain bike. Its a good bike but if you are looking for a performance one this is not. Also, changing gear is not smooth and makes noise and have to constantly adjust the front and back to make the noise go away whenever changing the gear. also wasn't able to go all 21 speed, certain combination of front and back are not possible to do. couple of time chain got dislodged during the uphill chaining gear making it dangerous. Tried to call the vendor but put me on hold for a long time and i gave up. ... show more

  • Good beginner bike, awkward shift lever positioning.
Color: Orange
Coming from someone who has owned multiple mountain bikes since he was a kid, this bike is completely different. First off it take a lot of getting used to because your hands are even, if not below your seat. With this if you don't keep the correct posture I found my back start to get sore after awhile. After about a month of riding it however you do get used to the positioning and not even notice it. Just be ready to be sore for a little while! The one thing about this bike that I can not get used to is the shifting levers. For some reason the shift levers are attached to the center stem of your handle bars and at least 3-4 inches away from your hands when they are on top of the handle bars (and about 8 inches if you have your hands in the lower position). In order to shift gears you have to completely remove one hand from the bars to move the shift lever which for me is a circus act when getting to a sudden hill and trying to downshift while my legs are struggling to keep the bike moving. I will admit that it does get easier after riding for awhile and I know there are plenty of people with much better balance than me so don't think that you need to have the balance of an Olympic gymnast in order to ride this bike. Overall this is a nice bike and worth the money. It is a very light and sturdy bike and much easier to pedal than any mountain bike I have owned. The light weight allows much easier hills and control over the bike as well as easier storage and moving the bike around in the garage. If you want to get into this style of bike with a low budget I would recommend getting this bike. If you're a little more serious though and are going to ride this everyday to work then I would suggest spending the extra cash and upgrading. ... show more

  • Franken-Cycle Will Leave You Underwhelmed
Color: Orange
I'm an aspiring bicycle mechanic who bought this bicycle as training project. I assembled, dis-assembled, and re-assembled it several times before donating it to a local charity. Here is what I learned: it is built with spare parts from whatever the janitor's broom swept up at the Kent factory floor. The frame is a (heavy) road bike, the seat is from a cruiser, the brakes are from a dirt bike, and the shifter is from 1962 -- and came with neither the necessary bracket for installation, nor any mention of it in the assembly instructions. Because of its striking orange color, and the fact that it looks like a 1970s racing bike if you stand far away and squint, it will be cat-nip to hipsters with a bit of the 'tism who are seeking a fresh fixation. The disappointment that awaits them makes my heart ache. It will arrive with wheels that are in bad need of truing (which took hours to do, although you could just pay a mechanic), brakes that need alignment, a rear derailleur that needs adjustment in all three dimensions, and a front derailleur that isn't even indexed. And once you've done all this and aligned everything as perfectly as possible, what awaits you is a clunky, unwieldy ride with an uncomfortably long reach even on a medium frame. A fair price for this bike would probably be more like $119. ... show more

  • Wonderful
Color: Orange
My fiancée loves her bike! It arrived fast, and was free of shipping damage. It was relatively easy to assemble once I had the correct tools, and is good quality for such a low price. From a more technical point of view, the bike is a little on the heavy side considering its only medium sized. The dual set of brakes is a hit for my fiancèe who doesn't like to always be reaching for the drop brakes. The shift levers are a bit far back, but considering the brake set-up, it makes sense. For the price, this bike is a great buy, and even though it's not a top of the line road bike, it is more than enough to get you outside and enjoying cycling. ... show more

  • Budget Bike, Budget Parts
Color: Orange
The Radius brand brake calipers are kinda bad. It fails to stop the bike effectively. The seat it came with hurts my butt. There have been complaints about the wheel but the one I got is completely fine. I could easily get some entry level Shimano brakes for the front and rear for $45, and probably get a better seat for another $25, but that would be an extra $70. Might as well invest in a better quality road bike, some Giants go for <= $500, that will last you a longer time and will give you a better ride quality. Same goes with anything you purchase that you plan on using for a while. ... show more

  • missing parts, alignment issues, bad support (:
Color: Orange
The handle wedge nut is missing so I can't assemble the handle, hence can't ride the bike, hence won't know comfort, can't determine value for money. You have to do lot of adjustments to align the front wheel to make it free. This is really disappointing. I missed my return window and now stuck with this. Tried contacting seller but there is no response. ... show more
