Installation was going good and simple however, the Venturi valve didn’t work, which allowed the water in the brine tank to rise and flooded my garage. Got this for my grandfather, and he was able to set it up pretty easily. He enjoys the fact that the water coming out of the tank now is softer because here in the state we live in it is very hard water.

I have used Kenmore for over 10 years. Very reliable. Will be quick to install if you use your handyman or service provider. The $7 Costco 40lb salt bags will work just fine. Highly recommended.

    • Easy replacement for my older Kenmore
Color: Gray Size: 32,000 Grain Softener
This was an easy replacement for my 2008 series 300. The bypass valve is slightly different on the new one so I continue to use the old one to minimize re-piping. The new recharging system uses a longer brine fill and brine empty cycle than before but so far so good. Many of the wear parts are the same as the older unit - O-rings, valve disc, valve housing so repairs, if needed, will be as before. The display board has been updated to provide for more options however does not appear to be improved to protect against saltwater fume corrosion -- one of the reasons I needed to replace my older unit. The rectangular exterior shape has a slightly different footprint and lid opening is a bit smaller for adding salt but not a big deal. I have been using a similar design Kenmore water softener for over 40 years and will expect this new design to provide a similar service life and good quality softened water. ... show more
