The LSX ii powered speakers are very crisp and precise but have minimal bass. The 10b subwoofer fixes this completely - in fact I can’t imagine a better system for a sit/stand desk. The KEF connect iOS app handles settings and has a great interface for multiple streaming services. Apple airplay also works very well casting the music collection from my Mac. WiFi interconnect works well but I recommend using the provided cable to connect the right to the left LSX. The standard (as opposed to expert) settings in the KEF app work well, as does following the app’s advice to set the volume on the 10b half way up (with the indicator pointing straight up) and also leaving the subwoofer volume in the KEF app at half way (5 out of 10). The one thing I changed was moving the speaker/subwoofer balance slider in the app almost all the way to subwoofer. Curiously, if you select KEF 10b as the subwoofer model, the app moves that slider all the way to the speaker end. If you then move the slider toward subwoofer, which is a good idea, the app changes the subwoofer model to custom. Go figure. Again, this combination of powered speakers is a superb desk setup, but maybe not so much if you have neighbors through a wall.

Love this addition to the system. Adds depth to everything. Using it with NAD C 338 amp, KEF LS 50 speakers & Dual CS 429 turntable. Also do stream digital sources, but for me nothing like an LP. Went back and forth trying to decide which KEF Kube to buy. Purchased the 10b. Have it in a medium sized room with 10’ ceilings and it is a perfect match. Genres I primarily listen to are jazz, pop & classic rock. Recently inherited my father’s record collection and am starting to warm up to classical music from his collection. Highly recommended

This sub is connected to my Sonos amp, kef r3 metas, and new Sony OLED tv. It sounds amazing especially with action movie rumbles and explosions. Fantastic setup. Great subwoofer.

Very compact and good looking. Bass is very tight and fast. Integrated very well with my LS50 speakers. Crossover set at 80hz. Replaced a Dual 10 Sony subwoofer and the improvement exceeded expectations. The old subwoofer muddied the sound and just could not keep up with the LS50 speakers - crossover for it had to be set at 50hz . This small wonder has no such issues. Positives: Tight undistorted Bass, Rated down to 24hz +/- 3db, Easy to set up. Good Looking. Negatives. Subwoofer cover is not removable. Highly recommended.

Cheap materials and no sound quality whatsoever

Wow, what a disappointment. I have only the highest respects for KEF for its speaker lines, esp. book shelf speakers, great British design. This sub, on the other hand, is - and there is no polite way of saying this - utterly useless. I bought this at a huge mark down here on Amazon, for like $400. Great service from Amazon as always. Unit arrived, and tried the Kube in various settings - large living room to small bed room - and it just didn't come alive ever. I did an A/B comparison to SVS's lowest end sub, the SB-1000, which outperformed this many times over, it's not even close. And understand, SVS wouldn't even be in the running when it comes to a speaker comparison. To make things worse, the port for the dedicated sub cable (RCA) is made of cheap, brittle plastic, which is prone to breaking. Made in China, indeed - British design cutting corners at the materials level. You get what you pay for, and I ended up feeling the $400 for this unit were $400 too much, and returned it to Amazon. The big take away: trust KEF for their awesome speakers but stay away from their subwoofers.

works perfect with LS50 speakers

I thought I would try a subwoofer with the new Kef LS50 speakers I recently purchased. I decided on the Kef 10" driver, the 8" would have worked fine in this small room, but what happens if you move your system to a larger room some day or move ? Good choice as it blends in perfect.... Subwoofers are subjective, it might sound terrible in this location and incredible in this location. Well this 10" works perfectly in this size room, in the corner location and with these speakers and in a stereo only set up . I cannot comment on how it would sound in a home theatre. It was very easy to set up, it has a DSP switch in back where you can set it on corner, or wall, or in open and a few more settings. Love it.

Good sound but defect headache with UPDATE

First, the sound of the Kube is great. However, mine had a defect that caused it to emit a continuous full volume bass noise randomly. The deafening noise would continue until the sub was unplugged. Happened about once every couple weeks. KEF customer service was always responsive but made me jump through hoops that included recording the noise to send to them. When they agreed to work on it, I was requested to take the sub apart myself to send the board to them or drive 3 hours, one way, to the closest authorized repair facility. I choose the latter so I wouldn’t be responsible for damaging anything. This process took several months and $100 in gas before it was repaired. Long story short, love the sound but would have appreciated a quicker and more convenient resolution from KEF. UPDATE: After KEF repair the Kube still makes the full volume noise intermittently but for short durations. Contacted KEF again and was told to try switching cables. I explained that EVERYTHING in my setup was new since the sub was originally sent back for repair so it HAS to be the sub. KEF asked me to send it back for more diagnostics! Told them I was done with this headache and they offered me a credit on a higher end model. As a huge KEF fan, I’m really disappointed in the Kube.
