  • Best work boots I've owned so far. Best work boots I've owned so far.
I've had these boots since April and they've held up quite great. The laces don't come loose or have had any wear from rubbing. I'm a Project Manager and although I don't put too much stress on these boots I do walk a lot and constantly move from different jobsite conditions and weather. I upgraded the inside soles to a more comfortable one since the first day I used them. But when it comes to using them in the Texas heat the boots stay dry inside and have enough breathability in them to make them comfortable to use all day, I pair the boots with alpaca socks as well. The thread of the sole is very aggressive, this has been helpful specially in muddy conditions on laydown yards as well as dusty walkways. Slip resistance is good, I've had a couple of instances of stepping on oil near generators and haven't slipped afterwards. Waterproof wise, I've had to walk through flooded areas and although I thought water was going to come in it did not (water was up to the third loop of laces from the bottom up). These have been great on not letting water in. These boots are on the heavy side, even though I bought the carbon fiber toe it is still heavy but not as much compared to the Justin or Ariat cowboy boot style (I've owned both steel and composite toes) The height on the boots is perfect in my opinion and it's a requirement on most industrial/commercial sites where a defined heel is required. Has enough padding to be comfortable to use with low cut socks. If you're on the fence go for them, they're expensive but worth it. The leather on the outside is abrasion resistant so it will hold to the most extreme task. ... show more

  • Awesome fit and comfortable.
Color: Magnet/Black Size: 8
2nd purchase. Reliable and reasonably light in weight for what it offers. Water ingress resistance is awesome. Once the leather breaks or cracks a bit after a year or 2, it is still very good. The 1st pair was an 8" work boot. That one is still awesome and wearing it everyday. The full-grain leather on the outside is hardy and could withstand substantial abrasion. The carbon fibre composite toe protection is fantastic when going through airport security. Electrically resistant sole is a must for electricians. It's necessary if frequently rummaging through construction projects. Suspect the sole is multi-material composite with hard rubber at the bottom + polyurethane or TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) in the higher part of the sole, which makes it extremely comfortable and lightweight. Can't complain much. ... show more

  • Keen quality!
Color: Dark Earth/Black Size: 11
I’ve been purchasing a new pair of Keen’s every year since 2004. They’re by-far the most comfortable work boots currently made and extremely lightweight to-boot (pun definitely intended) but this year I noticed the USA made Keen selection and in particular this Dover utility leather model so I grabbed a pair. I cannot yet speak on their longevity on the construction sites I work on but they are much sturdier and better built than any of my previous imported model Keens, that being said they are a bit heavier but surprisingly not much! They took maybe two eight hour work shifts to “break-in” if you wanna even call it that and now a few weeks later, they feel absolutely amazing! I also see no need to upgrade the stock insoles as some have noted, at least not yet, they’re very comfortable with plenty of cushion. If these boots last a year, I’ll get another pair this time next year but I do suspect these Keens might just go 2 years! One can only hope. ... show more

  • Worth the cost.
Color: Magnet/Black Size: 11 Wide
My husband is over-the-moon for these. He said they are so comfy, with lots of cushion in all the right places. They keep his feet warm, and safe. They are waterproof, cozy, and look really sharp. Willing to pay for such great quality. You can't beat KEEN.

  • "Dem insoles Doh!" ... These are great boots with HORRIBLE factory insoles.
Color: Dark Earth/Black Size: 11 Wide
I bought these boots b/c I like Keen Hikers and decided to try their work boots. Normally I wear Timberland Pro Boodocks. I used to love their "Direct Attach" Steel toes as they used to be a very solid workboot, but after 2 BRAND NEW pairs of "Direct Attach" Steel toes both failed on me within a month of 1st wearing them (total sole separation) I decided to give these Keens a try. The older I get the less I want to wear heavy work boots unless they are really called for like when I need the protection and durability of heavy boots... B/c heavy boots are just that... heavy. I decided to give these Keen's a try as I wear their hikers when Im not "on the job" and I really like the way they fit, especially for my WIDE feet. I put them on an immediately was disappointed... They felt like walking on concrete in bare feet... I thought perhaps the insoles were missing. So I took them off and to my surprise there were "insoles" in them... if you can call them "insoles" ... They are thin and firm and not cushioning, soft or even supportive at all : aka useless. The rest of the boot however fit very well nd I really liked them in every way OTHER then the bottoms of my feet. I contemplated returning them b/c they were so hard/not cushioning, but they were light, and fit excellently in the toe box, metatarsal area so I just took the insoles out of my new pair of Timberland Boondocks (which are like walking with very heavy clouds on your feet) and put them into the Keens... WOW totally different feel... They were now PROPERLY cushioned and felt great. I now alternate between my Timberland Insulated Boondocks when its cold and my Non-insulated boondocks when I need a more heavy work boot and these Keens for a lighter/hot weather boot. This makes for an almost prefect three-way combination depending on weather/work conditions. These boots are great so far (we will see about their durability long term) OTHER than having to buy an additional pair of Timberland Insoles for the Keens to correct Keen's horrible decision to put BAD/useless insoles in these boots. If you buy these THROW the Keen insoles in the trash and put in some good ones and you will be presently surprised. If these last durability wise I will be buying another pair when I wear these ones out. ... show more

  • Vastly lighter than previous keens! Vastly lighter than previous keens!
Color: Magnet/Black Size: 12
Update-over one year later These still have life in them after one year of strenuous, high wear and tear commercial Foodservice delivery work. I unload 30-40k pounds of food multiple times per week off a semi trailer and walk it into stores with my dolly. The yellow pieces have zero affect on grip. They're for looks. See pictures! Pros: SUPER lightweight! These feel like light hiking boots and they have an athletic fit and feel. My go to Mt Vernon Keens feel like weights on my feet now. This makes a huge difference in the amount of energy you spend walking around a lot. Keen finally shortened the laces and these laces actually belong with this boot. Comes with the higher quality k20 insole. Previously only some of the non American built boots came with that insole. They seem well built and grip extremely well like any other boot from Keen. This new Konnectfit heel lock system actually works for me! The older design with straps would pull into the top of my foot and cause a lot of pain. I had to use a boot like the Mt Vernon that doesn't have it. I fit these boots in my normal Keen size. They don't run small like some Keen boots. Cons: None so far. I already thought that Keen's boots were light and comfortable, but this new design is vastly lighter and more athletic. This particular boot seems to have some reliability issues, but most people experienced problems pretty quickly. I'm a CDL A Foodservice driver and this job is super tough on boots. Keens usually last me 10-12 months, which is amazing, and I feel like these are going to hold up, but I'll report back if they don't. Keen could thicken the yellow Konnectfit fabric/lace/cord? thing and completely cover it with the rubber protective piece. Having some of the cord exposed looks cool, but I could see that being a problem in jobs that are highly abrasive to boots. The new Portland boot is American built and is this boot without the Konnectfit system or the yellow pieces of tread on the bottom. ... show more

  • Cheap, Painful, Leather "Wooden shoes"
Color: Dark Earth/Black Size: 11.5
Update: I wonder if these were defects? I paid top price, but A ripped me off with boots that had been passed around many times over. The boots didn’t even have anything but a plain cardboard box, which was oversized for the boots. The boots were really scratched up. Apparently, these will be passed around for eternity, or until someone is too lazy or too busy to send these back. A_ employees don't care about all the negative reviews and lost shipping costs. I bet similar reviews were given for the exact same boots. Meanwhile, try explaining this to someone in Eastern Europe, which is typically where customer service is, going by the accents. It's just not worth the hassle. My refund took most of a month, for boots I needed "yesterday." The boots were sent 1200 miles away, by ground shipping, to Las Vegas. Then they sat there a while, waiting inspection. This is why I canceled A. Pr___. Returns are a major nuisance. The time lag is unacceptable. Buying clothes or shoes by shipping is highly problematic. Original: No cushioning. These box-like boots are reminiscent of wooden souvenir shoes from Holland. Extremely wide. Designed for stocky types with wide feet. Painful when bending. I've broken in leather work and cowboy boots for over 5 decades, but these aren't thick enough leather for break-in consideration imo, nor would I keep a boot that's painful and low quality. I am astonished at how cheaply made these are, for the price and brand. Boot quality seems to be getting worse in general, perhaps thanks to the installed inflation regime, but there are still a few better choices out there. If these were available to try in person, I could have saved myself a lot of hassle. Maybe that's the real reason these aren't found in stores. ... show more

  • Fantastic comfort. I am on my feet many hours daily.
Color: Dark Earth/Black Size: 10
I have been a keen hiking and work boot fan for over 20 years. Usually always buying the Pittsburgh model. These Lansings with the composite toe feel like wearing tennis shoes. They are super comfortable and as a safety manager in a construction company I’m on my feet many hours per day.
