I have a physical disability that sometimes makes it difficult for me to get up out of bed. I typically use my nightstand when I have needed another structure to help me stand up. However, most nightstands for home use (vs. the industrial grade nightstands at hotels) are typically lightweight furniture; these things are generally designed to support a lamp, book, phone, and an alarm clock. The home night stands will wobble and/or break under the weight of a human body. For times when I will need the support rail, I expect the Kaucytue Safety Bed Rail to work well for me. I have thoroughly tested it. The rail is solid, and it can take my full body weight without giving me any cause for concern. The rail also has come in handy for a tablet mount that I can use to watch a movie on my side. The storage pouch is not so great because it falls off easily. I keep it off. Stuff that would go in the pouch are for nightstand. A note of caution: you should make sure that the height of the bottom side of your mattress is less than 20". One of the beds in our house is tall, so this rail will not work on that bed without a spacer.

BOTTOM LINE: 1. I recommend this Kaucytue safety bed rail. 2. The current price of ~$36 is reasonable. LIKES: - Sturdy enough to put my weight on. I'm not light. - The supports go all the way to the floor. This provides instant feedback and support when griping. DISLIKES: - A bit tedious to get adjusted, but worth it.

I'm quite appreciative of the bed rail support I got for my dad. Knowing he has the additional support he requires gives him such a sense of security and peace. I feel a great sense of relaxation and delight when I watch him rest more calmly. It's a true blessing because it improves his safety and wellbeing in such a subtle but significant way.

In considering my options, this bed rail had all the features important to me for a reasonable price. It holds a great deal of weight. It can be customized to your individual bed height. It has legs that go to the floor to provide stability. The piece that goes under the mattress is thin enough to not be uncomfortable through the mattress. There is a strap that you can use to secure the rail to the bed (the one video showed the strap being used on the mattress, but that would make the bed uncomfortable, so I attached it to the bedframe instead). The handle is padded and sturdy. The pockets are good for reachable storage. I think this is a well thought out useful product.

With my sciatica flaring up lately, this helps me get out of bed in the morning. If you take your time and read carefully, it’s pretty easy to assemble (pay attention to the holes on the tubes). It feels pretty sturdy and I’m able to pull myself up as well as lean on it when I get up. The pouch is handy if you have a beside remote or even for your phone. I couldn’t figure out how to use the strap. I figure it was made for a twin bed (I have a king and 6 inch mattress). I’ll have to play with adjusting the positioning. So far it works pretty well.

It was what I needed, a safety bed rail for my father. The instructions were lacking specifics. Also it needed a tool for assembly that wasn't included in the box. Luckily I had one from another product I bought.

My father has some mobility issues, particularly with getting out of bed in the morning. This is a solid and stable device, and after only a couple days of using it, he wonders how he got by without it. The attached pocket is also large enough to fit a water bottle, which he has found quite handy. Whether you're a senior or not, if you have mobility issues, this is a great help.
