We bought these for a motion-sensitive cruise light and also a home bathroom motion-sensitive light, which they are both capable of. The battery-powered versions have a non-working mini USB power input! So, I'd forgotten that I ordered the AAA battery version and plugged them both into the USB to charge, but there's no indication that anything happened after two hours, and, too late, I realized that I ordered the battery versions. So I untwisted the back domes to access the AAA battery compartments. Once I had the batteries in, and turned them to auto mode (ON/OFF/AUTO slide switch), they are sensitive and bright for ~25 seconds and shut off. They do attach magnetically to a vertical surface but only if the second/outer plate for the sticky mounting disk is taken off first. If it is left on, the weight of the light will cause it to slide down the wall. The swivel mount works as advertised. ... show more

Wow! These were amazing on our cruise! I bought 4 of them. We had two rooms, so I put two in each room. One for the main cabin, and one in the bathroom. The motion detector part works, they charged great, and I'm so glad we had them! All 7 of us were sl gad we had them!

These lights are the bomb. I bought two of them to use while on a cruise. They worked great when you first open your cabin and enter to come in they would light up the entry way- led lights with a USB charge - I also would put one in the bathroom at nite so no one had to search for the light switch the motion of opening the door would activate the light.
