I've tried several of the other cheaper smart plugs and it's hit or miss if they work or not. I have 3 Kasa plugs including this outdoor one and they were all simple to connect (less than 5 minutes), integrate with google home and work just as I need them too. I have several TP-link Kasa Smart Plugs and a Kasa light switch, so I wanted to match my outside plug for the Christmas lights I had up on my fence. I couldn't find anything and then came across this. I didn't know or even think if my Christmas lights were dimmable, but knew it would still work if they weren't. Lo and behold my lights were dimmable; so, I set it at 75% and put the lights on a schedule and it all worked perfectly, and was visible/availble for control in my Kasa Phone app where I set up the % brightness and schedule. ... show more

I have 2ft led black lights and this Kasa outlet could dim all of them. It didn’t dim them much so I returned them but other outlets couldn’t handle two. It worked really well with 3. If you need a smart outlet get kasa

Does its job as a weatherproof smart plug. The picture, as of March 2023, is incorrect - it shows a straight plug (the male end), but TP-Link support informed me that the new hardware version (v1.26) of the KP401 has a bent plug (90 degrees from the direction of the cord), and the old hardware version with the straight plug isn't being made anymore. 4 stars instead of 5 because it wasn't as pictured, and getting an answer from TP-Link support was unnecessarily difficult. ... show more
