Works great, I needed another burner since one of my burners on my electric range went out and I’m not ready to replace the range yet. I had a couple of convection burners but they fizzled out way too soon. So far I’m really pleased with this burner.

It arrived in great condition. Well packaged. It may be a little confusing to work at first, but what I did after turning it on was just touch any one of the cook modes, then simply adjust the knob up or down to the desired wattage. I can't imagine anyone needing to use it at 1800. The highest I've used it was 600w and it nearly burned my onions. I caramelized them easily at 500w. The top does stay extremely hot, so do leave the unit plugged in until the fan turns off by itself to be safe. This will probably keep your unit from early burn out, too. The one negative so far, is that it is very difficult to keep clean and shiny. It picks up any little fingerprint, but the big thing is, any little drop of something on the hot plate will be difficult to remove, and the surface scratches too easily. The first time I used it, I had a small stainless steel pan on it and just from moving it around slightly, it got scratched up. If that is not an issue for you, then no problem. It works just fine. It's a very good unit so far. We'll see how long it lasts.

Boils water faster than anything I've ever tried.

Boils faster than my old burner, just hope it lasts. I tried the Consumer Reports best recommended single burner, which was an induction model that I used with a round magnetic plate because I wanted to use my stainless steel AirCore cookware. My old Waring model takes a lot longer to boil an equal amount of water. All I do is bring stuff to a boil for 5 minutes (hot cereal and my own bean soup), so I just use the STEAM setting. Neither the power level nor the timer are adjustable at that setting. I can just pull my pan off the burner a little if I want less power once the contents are boiling.
