Straight from the box, this saw immediately stood out to me as a serious machine. It is built like a tank, with an overbuilt, confidence-inspiring design that feels far closer to professional equipment than a standard homeowner tool. The bar in particular is impressively heavy and rigid compared to bars I’ve used from Homelite, Oregon, Poulan, and several no-name imports. I have bent bars in the past under extreme binding conditions, and I simply cannot envision that happening with this one. For a corded electric saw, it has real mass behind it—not needless weight, but the kind that makes it feel durable and capable. The included set of three chains are robust, the automatic bar and chain oiler has a generously sized reservoir well suited for sustained, high-temperature work; the instructions are clearly written in proper English with a labeled assembly diagram that makes future maintenance or repair realistic. That alone elevates this saw from “use it until it dies” to a durable, serviceable piece of equipment. My intended use for this saw is an Alaska-style chainsaw mill for ripping logs into lumber, and in that role it makes exceptional sense. The 16-inch bar is ideal for the dimensions I plan to cut once fitted with ripping chains, and being corded is actually an advantage in this application. I don’t have to worry about batteries overheating or dying mid-cut, fuel flooding when the saw is run on its side, oil leaks, or having to pull-start a gas engine just to resume a cut. Due to disability, I can no longer physically start a gas chainsaw, so the electric motor is not just convenient—it makes this kind of work possible again. Standard safety features are present, including the two-stage trigger and chain brake, which does exactly what it should (and occasionally reminds you it’s engaged if you haven’t used a saw in a while). The most impressive feature, however, is the chain tensioning system. Instead of the usual routine—loosening bar nuts, adjusting with a screwdriver, retightening, and repeating as the chain heats up—this saw uses a strong spring-loaded tensioner that maintains consistent chain tension automatically. It’s genuinely clever. Assembly and chain changes do require applying force to fully retract the tensioner spring, which takes some effort, but once in place it holds tension reliably and eliminates constant mid-job adjustments. It’s a smart, well-engineered solution. Only as an aside, there are two minor notes worth mentioning. The saw does not include a hard case, though it does come with a proper bar and chain sheath, which is the most important safety component—and for a saw intended to live on a mill rail, a case is largely unnecessary. And then there’s the price: at $109.99, it almost feels like a mistake. This saw could easily sell for twice that and still be a strong value. Powerful but a bit heavy for me. It was very sharp and cut well. Easy to set up but stopped working after medium use. It started again after a bit but because of of the weight and that problem I returned it. If the had a 14" I would definitely buy it again.

Got this chainsaw to help with spring cleanup chores in the yard. This saw is very well made, it comes unassembled with tools, the bar, three chains and an oil container. It’s about as heavy as a gas-powered saw and is very substantial. The saw is very powerful and requires a good heavy duty extension cord. I have used several gas-powered chainsaws, and this one is just as powerful. It rips through wood like crazy and is nice to not have to mix oil and gas before using. Just put out the extension cord, put on your protective equipment, plug it in and get to work! The saw has an auto oiler, the small bottle is good for manual oiling too. The automatic tensioning system is a nice feature. It has a small tensioner latch on the outside of the chain tensioner cover to hold the tensioner back while installing the cover. Once the cover is on it will release and automatically set the chain tension as you tighten it. When re-tensioning is needed just loosen the two tensioner cover bolts and let the tensioner do the work then retighten the bolts when the correct tension is reached. The saw has a kickback chain guard, and trigger lock that needs to be pressed before using the start switch on the handle. I really like the auto tensioner, but it is made of plastic and hope it lasts. This is a good chainsaw for a beginner or experienced user around the yard. ... show more

Have to admit I was very skeptical using a corded chainsaw. Unless you are hauling around a generator, clearly you are limited to where you use it. Having said that I will still use it quite a bit around the house trimming trees, cutting up larger limbs and rough cutting lumber. Out of the box it was easy to put together. Added some bar/chain oil and went to work. I used it to cut down a dying 8 inch diameter fir tree. It had power to spare and quickly dropped the tree. I have two other gas saws and this one did just as well as they did. Time will tell on how it holds up and there are limitations, but first impressions are very good. It's not a light saw either. But it's a good value and I will use it a lot. ... show more

This small portable chainsaw has been a fantastic addition to my tool collection.
