Overall, we are really pleased with this swing, especially for the price point! It is sturdy, looks great, sits comfortably, swings nicely, and is the perfect size for our townhome's back patio. Assembly took longer than the estimated 50 minutes because the bags containing the bolts were not labeled with the letters being used to refer to them in the instructions. The assembly instructions also could have used a bit more context in addition to the few diagrams listed. We've never put a swing frame together before, so we didn't know that the first few bolts attaching the legs to the top support would not be tight bolts, etc., so it just would have been nice to have some notes about that. Once we figured out assembly, it was simple enough to do; it just sometimes took a long time to figure out what it was telling us to do. It is definitely a two-person job, so make sure you grab a friend if you live alone! ... show more

For this price range the patio swing bench is amazing. The wood seems to be some sort of hardwood it is not soft like pine or fir , it appears to be more durable than poplar. Purchasing just the wood at Home Depot would cost more than the swing.my grading scale 3 stars is as expected 4 stars exceeded what you would think it would be like. Pros: ease of assembly only 4 pieces for bench and hanging hardware is included. Wood seems very durable Has sort of a protective finish Chain and screws have attractive surface. Like it so much I'm ordering another to match on our overhang. Cons: like most kit furniture the joints are mechanical with acres and bolts no glue or wood jointery. I'm sure its engineered to be sturdy and will be back to modify review if any joints fail. Protective coat is said to be teakboik, but I'm going to sand it to be s little smoother and put on more coats of teak oil and I think given the quality of the wood it will be very beautiful instead boy the more rustic appearance it comes in. Summary: Buy it if you want an attractive functional 4 foot patio swing I recommend it. ... show more

This is a swing that makes the small yard space in front of our house beautiful. My son put it together and it took a few hours, but it wasn't that difficult. The wood is sturdy and I think the swing will look even more beautiful if the top is decorated with flowers or other decorations.

Easy to assemble, feels sturdy- was excited when we hung it. However, now we are disappointed in what it is doing after getting wet. It wasn't rain, just morning dew, and now looks like mold on day 4. See photo. I would only recommend this to be under a covered porch.

I typically don't leave reviews, as you normally "get what you pay for", however, this was sadly a terrible purchase. I'll start with the positives.. it's actually a very cute swing! The wood is a lovely color and it looks very nice in our front yard! It's small but quaint and looks like it belongs with our little flower garden! That is why I gave it 3 stars. It wasn't difficult to set up once you figured out what pieces belonged where. It did take me about 2 hours, however, the tools were so bad and I was missing 2 pieces, so I gave it 3 stars because of that. The canopy worked very well against the rain! It was downpouring and once it let up, I went out to see the damage and the canopy managed to hold all the water without much getting through! I was very impressed by that! The negatives far outweigh the positives, however. It came damaged (lots of knicks and actual cracks in the wood), but it's for the outdoors, so I didn't let that deter me. The tools were very cheap so while I was tightening things, it was actually bending the Allen wrench! I was missing 2 of the screws I needed for the reinforcing brackets. The wood is extremely soft so when you are tightening everything, you need to be extremely careful not to go too far or it will sink into the wood. One side of the canopy is out of alignment, so it doesn't rest snug on one side. The wood seems to be "bleeding" some kind of sticky substance? It's beading on the arms of the swing but that's probably normal? I'm not very sure. This swing would've been worth it if it was maybe $100. For nearly $400 it was definitely not a good investment. I hope this review helps someone. I'll add pictures once I'm home from work. Now all that being said, I put it together, managed to get parts from my local hardware store to finish the project and actually enjoyed the swing.. for two weeks. The entire frame started leaning to one side! The swing chair itself was hitting the wood! So my first thought was maybe it sunk into the ground? So I moved it (btw, I'm five feet and about 115, my daughter is a little taller and weighs about 105 so it wasn't due to maximum weight on the swing) come to find out, all the screws loosened up!! So, I worked on tightening everything back up and a week later I'm left with the frame shifting one more to one side! So frustrating!! ... show more

One of the screws with an unusual nut would not screw in all the way it is sticking out. Went ahead and just hammered a nail in there to keep it in place. The chain was awkward to hang. The hook that you put the chains onto one side did not allow the chain to go into it. The other side was open.
