I have had the K&N intake kit (57-1509-1) installed on my 98 Durange 5.9 Magnum since December. I greatly enjoy the (possibly) improved throttle response and intake/engine noises. What I hate... the intake pipe cracked allowing unfiltered air into the engine and is now worthless Before ordering I was told the kit had an improved pipe material to address historic issues of this designed of intake pipe (multiple Dodge forums note and discuss this kits design flaw) cracking. With this in mind while replacing a previously cracked K&N kit for the 5.9 Durango, I carefully torqued the bolt in to prevent or lessen the chances of a crack. Unfortunately this does not appear to be the case and I'm greatly disappointed. Temporary awesomeness at best. ... show more

I have had this installed for several months now and I can tell you it makes a difference. The one thing I can provide from this experience is that if you have a Dodge 5.2 move the air intake sensor from the intake to the main tube. It is a cheap mod, $30 for a new one, and it makes a difference.

    • Not what I hoped for.
I liked how this unit was reasonably easy to install. Instructions were pretty easy to follow with the exception of only a few places. However, I've not even had this thing for a month and at some point a rather large split appeared at the base where the intake attaches to the throttle body. Pretty annoyed. This thing cost 300 bucks, I would have hoped for more metal in construction. Now I'm stuck with a cold air intake with a big old hole in it. ... show more
