  • Armada Cold Air Intake
Style: 50 State Legal
Love it! Sounds great, feels great, even boosted my mpg’s a little. I didn’t even need the instructions after having done a few of these on my other vehicles in the past. Next up, the daughter’s car!

  • Worth it for the sound it makes
Style: 50 State Legal
First and most important, it is critical to follow the instructions closely. Second and equally important, the instructions were aweful. Serious 35 pictures of inside the engine bay and 1 liners like put it the bolt as shown - it is a thumbnail sized photo of the whole engine. So I had 3 things I had to rework. 1 - the back most bolt that already had a bolt in it does not get a nut. You realize that when you're a nut short 10 steps later. 2 - does the negative cable go in front or behind of the bracket. 3 - the mass airflow sensor can be installed backwards and the symptoms are truck starts and the immediately stops. But it took an hour or so to install. And when I went out on the test drive - oh my gosh that sound was worth it. I was way down on star ratings when my engine was failing to start, but then 10000000 stars when I drove it. The gains were legitimately noticeable. It revived my old old old truck. And I thought that was enough. It almost always stays at 1-2k rpm. But I went to get on the freeway and stepped on the pedal and it sounds so good at 3k 4k and then superman 5k. I can't remove that smile. So I forgive it being a little tough to install because of the instructions and love it. It helps that I got it 40 dollars off and for July there's a 50 dollar mail in rebate. ... show more

  • Noticeable difference, easy install, great fit!
Style: Roto-Molded
So after a bit of research, I decided to give this a chance on my 2012 Armada Platinum. The install took 45 minutes to an hour, with only minimal tools (screwdriver, slip joint pliers, 10mm wrench and an allen wrench). Everything fits great, and looks like it belongs on the vehicle. Immediately after installing I hopped in to give it a try. At anything other than mashing the throttle the sound is barely noticeable. But at WOT it has a throaty rush that sounds amazing!! Instant smile. The throttle response is now almost instantaneous and can chirp the tires before traction control puts an end to it. In addition the Armada seems to coast better, dosen't feel like a parachute is behind me while coasting to a stop. As far as gas mileage goes we will just have to see. I was averaging about 12.8 mpg, I just took a little road trip and it showed on the highway I was getting 16.9. I'll just have to see if there is an improvement. I believe that this is well worth the money. 100% happy with this purchase! ... show more

  • Pays for itself in about 7 months
Style: Roto-Molded
I installed this intake in my 2008 Nissan Armada SE. The install took just over an hour but was relatively painless. I've run two tanks of gas since the install and I've seen a 2.6 mpg increase when doing the math (not the mpg computer). At that rate I figured it'll take 7 months (6.8 exactly) for the intake to pay for itself. The growl you get between 2500 and 4200 rpm is intimidating. The throttle response is slightly better. Cruising at 70mph you can't hear the intake at all but romping on it makes it come alive. Overall a great product, the directions for installation could be better, but if you're looking for better fuel mileage and some cool sounds you can't go wrong with this intake. Mar192021 update: since the install my average MPG has gone from around 12.5-13.2 (before install) to now between 15 and 19.6. The intake has already paid for itself almost twice. ... show more

  • I swear honey, I bought it for the MPG
Style: Roto-Molded
Third cold air intake I'be installed, with the first two in 4 cylinder Acuras. This is my second K & N , and my first on a V8, in my 08 QX56. I loved it in my Acuras, I love it in this car. I installed it one week ago. First, installation took just about an hour. I had to redo part of the install, as there are 5 hose clamps, with no indication of which to use where. I thought they were all the same until I put the big ones on the throttle body and the small ones didn't fit on the filter adapter. Other than that, basic tools and basic skills and it was done quickly. I am not sure i should expect any mpg improvements, as I cannot help but put my foot in it all the time. Blip the throttle in neutral, a lovely roar. Punch it on the on ramp, it roars and leaps. Awesome. However, normal driving does show improved mpg, and there is no noticeable increase in volume until you get on it. Highly recommend. In fact, my fourth CAI should arrive tomorrow, for my Mini. Review to follow. ... show more

  • good product
Style: 50 State Legal
I purchased this for my 2005 nissan titan along with an Airraid Poweraide Throttle Body Spacer. This product, along with the spacer makes my engine roar. I was surprised with the increased engine noise. The Titan always had great get up and go but it seems to have a bit more, although that could be in my head:) I just put it on last night so I haven't seen gas mileage yet. The product was easy to install other than having some minor issues, not related to the product. I could not fit both the spacer and the intake without having to modify my fan shroud, I had to cut a portion of the top off so it would all fit. ... show more

  • Best fairly low budget mod you can do
Style: 50 State Legal
Just picked this truck up, all stock, and this was the first investment. Best fairly low budget mod you can do. The factory air box is sooooo restrictive. I pulled it off and was appalled by how tiny the inlet was. This took maybe 30-45 min. Instructions are pretty straight forward if you have even basic automotive maintenance knowledge. I have no way of telling if my mpg has improved, but this truck isn't built for economy. It definitely has a harder meaner pull, and the sound change is faaaaantastic. I spent the next two days heavy on the pedal just to hear it. Better high end pull, incredibly different sound in mid-high rpms, and looks clean under the hood. I also went the extra step and got some heat wrap for the intake tube. ... show more
